How would you argue against internment camps?

If you went back in time when people inprisoned japanese people in the US because of Pearl Harbor, how would you argue that this is a bad idea?

Cus I honestly don't think I would have dared to say anything against it, even if I think it's wrong. People say it was cus they suspected spies or it was some response to all the horrible thing japan did during the attack.

All of those things seem to make sense, so it seems to make sense to imprison people, but at the same time I don't like it.

I think it's a similar situation to the reactions after 9/11 where people went to war in Irak and stuff and it's like was that really necessary? But then it's like you argue 9/11 doesn't matter if you are not ok with that.

Am I the only one who had to google what "internment" means?

Intenment camps were an excuse by the US to seize Japanese people's assets. Once the war was over and they were released their properties weren't returned to them. It was a disgusting move only possible because the American's were running high on emotion. Had they not been driven by emotions the appeal to emotion would never have been possible. If the government couldn't do that then the Japanese would never have been imprisoned.

It's a common practice even today the state puts out a horrific narrative and argues for moral responsibility to end the attrocities. The media policy is usaully in line with the state's and they create the propganda by showing horrific images to garner public support for miltary intervention and regime change or a draconian law/measure.

The world is already over populated and humans are a cancer to the eco system. Billions of money go into rehabilitating the trobles, and either exterminated. Innocent or not, whats JUST is a board meaning when it comes to the safty , security, and integrity of a nations.

Also its always about to money. War makes money and keeps population down.

The Japanese placed in interment camps were not just travelers, which is bad itself, they were mainly citizens themselves taken without trial and indiscriminately on the off chance of a handful being spies. Atop of that, their property was taken. Thousands of Americans having their property, time, & freedom taken and for what? Spies who probably held zero government positions? Once they had returned, they'd have to restart from scratch furthering their loss of time. All of the things taken from them & the means to do so blatantly go against the constitution.

If I were there in those times, I'd probably be silent given that I'm black, but my argument would emphasize something along the lines of "do you support the government having the power to take ANY & potentially all of your rights on the basis that it perceives you as a potential, not even proven, threat?" And, "if these rights were taken, why assume their right to not be subjected to cruel or unusual punishment won't be revoked?"

It has never worked for its intended purpose. That’s reason enough.
