I've been thinking what would happen if you put bourto in a warring era where would he rank among the prodigies? You got to take into account that he live in a time of peace and it’s not the same as the old prodigies grew up when being a ninja was the way of life, being force to train at a young ages because at any moment someone could attack you village, or watching people you love die and you can’t do anything about it. It’s a lot of thinks old prodigies had to go through so how would bourto do in a time like that?

Two words: early death.

Seriously Boruto is the kind of person that only developed his talents due a nice environment.

He """"suffers"""' with a father like Naruto. Imagine with Butsuma!

No more talented than Kakashi, if he isn't creating techniques inardvently and it's down to what he can realistically do. With plot, he can go above Kakashi and go near Itachi level Mary Sueness.

Without plot, he remains where is now, averagely talented but somehow managing things above his level of understanding, but there will be a line drawn where he cannot create techniques out of thin air of which he even attests to have no empirical knowldege and highly depends on luck perenially extending generosity.

So I think at best Kakashi level, but still below Sasuke who is arguably above Kakashi (outside accidental pioneering), and definitely above Himawari.

Thank you for your opinion, I feel like with his talent if he really put effort into it he could be great and it’s no place better then a warring era. You got to take into account the way he grew up made him who he is changing that would definitely change him

No it wouldn't. The opportunity doesn't make the thief. Either you're a thief or you aren't.

And no, warring states can't change who you are. Kawarama also was a prodigy and was dismembered.

Everything we seen bourto do was without training but rasengan, so say if he was to train from a young age like the other you still put him at that level

If he trained more, that'd give the writers more excuses for dispensing him with everything under the sun. He would be a master at everything, he would probably be the biggest prodigy there is from his achievements alone, but never really amounting, because we'd see it's only because of benign writing for being a main character.

He would surpass Kakashi, and reach Itachi Mary Sueness. War created a genius like Itachi and most of his talent was channeled through hard work. Boruto hasn't even been honed and he's already a talent comparable to Sasuke. Boruto born out of the war's womb would configure a watered down version of Itachi, with the writers we have. If he was a side character, he would be a cut above Sasuke level genius, but no more than Itachi though.

He would die an early death without his ass pulls, handouts and plot armour.

Bolt will be superior to Naruto as said by Sasuke himself, ergo he will be superior to Sasuke, ergo he will be superior to all other prodigies in the series.

More skilled, but more powerful? I highly doubt, Sasuke right now is his equal in every sense of the word and he still isn't nearly as powerful as Naruto. Skill has to be an integral component before Sasuke can match Naruto as skill is his edge over him.
And notice, whenever Boruto talks about surpassing him, he alway seems to say "shinobi", not that he will become the strongest shinobi there is, or stronger than Naruto. The only prodigies the series has seen are no more than five by my count, so it isn't such a big wall to climb over, and thanks to plot, there is every reason for him to be great at just about everything, like Naruto was seeming to be, towards the end where he stated he felt he could do anything & everything, and he wasn't a prodigy by any account.

Sasuke has both alluded to the fact that he will be superior to Naruto and Toneri said multiple times that he will be Earth's savior and the main obstacle of the Ootsutsuki, something Urashiki is also well aware of, even saying Bolt will prove troublesome if left alone, something he never said about either Naruto or Sasuke. Even Toneri, who saw Naruto's power in combat, attests Bolt is the one who will save Earth. In fact, Bolt being made a prodigy is basically an excuse to have him be OP as a kid so that he can be even stronger once eh matures and starts training for real.
