Does it have to do something about time, right before he becomes Hokage or long before? Like when did Sasuke truly acknowledged Naruto, when he lost or was it long time ago when Naruto became stronger than him?

Acknowledgement would be before becoming Hokage, it's the step that comes before it. Naruto got people to acknowledge him by his actions through the war and continued to build on it.

I think it means if you force people to root for you, they won't and you wont be a real leader, like if you become Hokage and expect people to like you just because of that then you fail, but if you gain peoples support then they will want you to be a leader. Or something.


Naruto was an outcast, but maybe if he had become a kage then people might still have disliked him, and he couldn't expect people to like him just cus he got the title, but he became ackowledged first and that made it possible for him to be a Kage or somethin.

Like Danzo maybe he expected people to support him just cus he was the leader instead of gaining support first or somtg.f...

Naruto became stronger than Sasuke when Sasuke had to borrow chakra from 9 bijuu and still lost

Thing is, by chapter 450 ( end of the Pein arc) the whole village was acknowledging Naruto. So much so, that by the Gokage summit, villagers were saying Naruto should be hokage.

The Itachi encounter came around chapter 560-580. Naruto had already completed his chactacter journey for the series. But the series kept going for another 100+ chapters.
