We all know Itachi was wise beyond his years...

but do you think if he was a good guy and fought in the 4th Shinobi War, he would've led up a unit higher than Kakashi?

Let's not get it twisted, Kakashi is/was a leader from his inception. Im not purely talking about skill...we all know Itachi beats him there, but as far as influence, valor, leadership... Kakashi stands amongst the greats.

Itachi has very little feats of possessing these qualities, he only lived to protect one person, while Kakashi lived and even became Hokage - the eminent shinobi in all the land.

What role you think Itachi would've played in the 4th Shinobi war as a Konoha ninja?

Hmmm, I dunno, one would think if he had the wisdom or thought like a hokage at a young age he would of been amazing at unifying a group, especially with his willingness to put the village over the clan. That being said, this would all be assuming the massacre and the darker path had never occurred. Hell by the way they make it out to be, itachi could stopped the coup without the massacre

Better than Kakashi, I suppose.

When you put it like that then I feel like Kakashi edges Itachi based on leadership skills. Don't get me wrong, Itachi was a squad leader in the anbu black ops unit at the age of 13, but Kakashi has this uncanny ability to make unparalleled strategies against opponents that are not only more powerful than him but also with team mates way more powerful than him.

But Itachi will be able to lead a unit no doubt if someone people inferior to him like Darui, Gaara, and Kitsuchi are able to be unit commanders.

Tis true. There was a time when he was purely good...i guess thats just about the only timeframe we can use to assess his ability to lead. And from what we know, he led some kids as an academy student and he become an Anbu captain at 13.

That being said, it doesn't look like he ever cared for or had an affinity to lead. Im thinking more than likely he would've just been similar to what Might Guy was in the War.

I think the ability to lead isnt directly correlated with physical strength. Kakashi became Hokage even though he was far from the most powerful. But yet we all sit here and agree that he more so than any other, deserves to be Hokage.

Itachi had the respect of his entire clan, the third Hokage, led an anbu squad at the age of 13, and was stated by Shisui and Fugaku to take Anbu squads on top secret missions all the time and succeed in all of them.

Kakashi is also talented, but I don't think he is as talented as Itachi. I know we are speaking leadership, but Itachi is also great at getting people to do what he wants.

He got Sasuke to question his actions after his second death. He got narutos respect in their final conversation. He had Kisame's respect to the extent that his dying words were to Itachi in his mind, and Kisame was a monster. The past Hokage's acknowledged his time as a ninja with utmost respect, the first saying he was even better than him (as a ninja).

Part of being a good leader is earning respect from people around you, and he has always managed to do that. And if his enemies didn't understand him and side with him, like in Obito's case, then they acknowledged him in a positive manner.

I think, as a leader, Kakashi was worthy of the Hokage title. I think Itachi is also just as worthy, and if he were somehow alive, he would undoubtedly be a Hokage.

It would have been cool seeing him there in some alternate universe.

Don't know if he would be a leader.

This is actually a very interesting thread. They are neck to neck for me. In skill and everything i'd say. Except kakashi feels like light while itachi the darkness.
I disagree with people saying itachi was more skilled because when they first fought, they were equals until itachi pulled out MS which kakashi didn't have. So in raw skill kakashi matched him perfectly. Its just that itachi was more mysterious and mystery usually seems more intriguing.
