The problem isn't the content it's the monthly release that kills the hype!!

We need the anime to surpass the manga like DBS so it becomes the source material. DBS had so much hype because the anime was the main story/canon of the series not the manga and it was weekly

The content isn't very good either but yes, the most glaring issue is that monthly release of a manga which already isn't especially amazing tends to make people lose interest

Monthly releases like AOT and manga which are infamous for hiatuses like Hunter x Hunter or Berserk which still maintain a devoted fanbase are proof that you can indeed make sparse releases work but the quality of Boruto's story isn't good enough to accomplish that

The problem is the MC and the monthly releases don't help either. Even if they weren't monthly then it would be worse writing than it already is. It takes Kodachi a whole month to write how he's going to focus soley on Boruto. If he has to do it weekly then all other characters will disappear and cease to exist with the very little screen time they get.

We only continue reading Boruto because it's Naruto's next generation ...
I don't care about Sarada , Mitsuki and Boruto , all I care about is Sasuke , Naruto and Shikamaru ... The best Ikemoto can do is to kill Boruto and continue the series with NaruSasu as MCs .

I agree OP. Basically, here is how it is:

Boruto manga chapters have about the same amount of progression as a Naruto chapter did (and Naruto wasn't really so fast paced in terms of progression), but Naruto could get away with it due to weekly releases. Boruto cannot get away with it due to monthly releases.

I've kept up with two other monthly mangas (DBS and To Love Ru Darkness) and they both do monthly releases a lot better than Boruto. Unlike with Boruto, both DBS and To Love Ru Darkness had at least something relatively significant happen in just about every chapter. There is almost always some form of progression. Boruto manga however allows for chapters where nothing really happens (like that chapter where they were just testing out the ninja tools). This, coupled with monthly release, makes for what seems like a manga that moves at a snail's pace. At least things are finally getting good though with KK, Karma seal, Kawaki, etc...

Keep telling yourself that.

The horror. It is not only about Boruto being the main character and get the focus but the plot doesn't even feel right. Something is wrong with the way Kodachi writes.
