i saw this thread. so I figured I would expand it more.

Part 1

Zabuza/Haku/Kakashi was stated to be kage level.

Gaara at the chunin exams was made the kazekage on the hidden sand. the only people to be able to fight him on his level was rock lee, Sasuke and Naruto.

The 3rd hokage was able to fight orochimaru and two other hokages.

When the next leaf hokage was picked both Kakasho and jiraiya passed on the title to tsunade.

Kimimaru fough Garra and Rock lee.

Part 2

4 tails Naruto 1v1 Oroshimaru.

Sasuke 1 shots orochimaru, sakura and Naruto.

Deidara vs Gaara.

Sasori vs Sakura and cheyo

and then after the kazuku figth you get into top tiers like pain.

> Those Hokages had chuunin level abilities at best, not to mention the fact that Orochimaru underestimated Hiruzen so he wasn't trying all that hard to defeat his former master

I don't even see what's the point of this thread anyway, just wanted to point out these things.

Nah.. according to the 3rd Db, Gaara was Chunin before he became Kage.

because he skiped jonin. because he became Kazekage after the chunin exams.
