He was being compared to be at or slightly greater than Madara without the Senju DNA and of course without the Rikudou chakra, that speaks the level at which his own power is at. I am referring to VOTE Madara.

No it was either the entire uchiha clan or the entire clan minus Sasuke. Therefore he saved the uchiha clan, never said that was his intention but he did so. You just can't handle it that Itachi is smarter, better written, stronger and sexier than Madara.

Really? His specialized crows are great for his aesthetic, his Tsukuyomi, Yata Mirror and Totsuka Blade are still unique to him and his combat style is one of the most interesting in the manga because he incorporates Bunshin feints, genjutsu mirages as well as occasionally utilizing side kicks. He also uses Fire Style much more frequently than Sasuke who has mostly adopted Raiton as his main chakra nature especially post-Hebi. Sasuke's main means of bukijutsu is with a sword, Itachi relies on kunai and shuriken for weapon based combat. Additionally, Itachi never really enters a fight outright without testing his opponent with genjutsu or crow clones beforehand while Sasuke usually adopts a more head-on approach.

They're fairly distinct in my opinion and I don't really see Itachi as a diet Sasuke or vice versa

Please! Madara gained new insight and vision he was the second coming of Rokudo. There's a clear difference between him and the ***** that is Itachi. A true tdaitor to the uchiha clan because wanted to be ridden by Hiruzen. Fugaku tried to trach him the way of the Uchiha but his whorish nature was too strong. I wouldn't be surprised if Itachi told the Senju to line up and gave them all a turn. All to show how much of a loyal dog he was and how far he was willing to go. The fact that he was willing to do anything for his little Sauce I wouldn't be surprised if he went further.
