Im not sure why didnt they just skip all this and just continue with the story ...and now we will have to watch it all over again with little changes and some fights we didnt see, Yodo for example, Araya etc. which will be over in few minutes

The anime version of the movie is adding MANY new things. For instance instead of 2 otsutsuki villains we have 3. And the individual battles are gonna be shown in details. We’re having Shinki vs Mitsuki in ep 60
