Actually I'd say that's maybe one of the reasons he left the village: everything there was superfluous. The demagogy and hypocrisy was too strong.

The video is broken but i know what you mean. When Budha is taking away control from Madara? I think that was just in that moment to release the genjutsu from it, not breaking the contract with the Kyuubi.

Pretty much she was a nice person when it mattered to her.
Why she didn't stand up for Kushina? Because she was lazy? Afraid? It gives away a fault in her persona.
It's quite possible her personality changed through the years while she got to know love.
