I dont think they were planted beforehand, it could be the receiver Obito was given by Madara. It contained his power so he probably used it to hijack Obito's body.

Half Obito’s body is covered in the Gedo mazou structure (it’s in the url), and the black receivers came from the Gedo mazou in the first place (that’s why old Madara was able to use them after synchronizing with the Gedo mazou) so Obito was already embedded in them during the transplant.

The Gedo mazo is just the source of more of them.

The reason why Obito didn’t sense madara’s chakra in those rods is the same reason why Madara didn’t sense Kaguya’s chakra in his black rods (will) because it is easy to mask his chakra considering the fact that he comprises of so many other different types of chakra already.

No those rods were different Obito's not stupid after seeing Nagato and the effects on him he would've removed them. Also I think they were gone by the time he fought Minato as they didn't appear even though he waa oozing.
