Slavery wasn't a choice but accepted norms back in the days pretty much all of the West. Slave Traders were pretty big. It was a trading system. Whites, Blacks, Browns, etc. were all traded as slaves. It wasn't a choice as in happy go lucky but in despair sense. There was just one way to get out of it; if your master releases you. Or you die.

You just don't understand what he's saying. He's not saying every slave for 400 years made the choice to be enslaved. He's saying that's almost what the perception of 'slavery' is because of the length and who it was that was enslaved.
He's essentially saying we weren't enslaved, we were imprisoned for 400 years mentally and physically. His argument is against the word slavery because it makes people automatically think of blacks like the word Holocaust does with the Jews. In that regard, I don't disagree with him. I think both words would work fine.

kanye dumb af. guy's ranting against slavery because of its connotations and inability to grasp the difficulty of escaping it. cant wait till his special ass decides it's time to call the holocaust nothing more than "fighting" because "fighting is something fair to all races."

Hell yeah! Over 60 million Africans died on slaves ships across the Atlantic or during the Atlantic Slave-Trade alone. Yes Jewish people suffered and I hate comparing tragedy to tragedy but black people have the worse case of human suffering in history.
To me both are equally bad. Given slavery is worse over time since genocide doesn't usually last as long.
One race was enslaved for decades and the other one was pretty much slaughtered.

You make enslavement sound simple but it was also placing blacks at the absolute bottom of all aspects of life. Do you also think the Nazis didn’t **** with the blacks and only focused on the Jews? The ramifications of African slavery had forever marked its people in a way that’s inescapable, especially when you take into account what transpired after the abolishment of slavery in America and abroad.To me both are equally bad. I think he's just dumb, I've noticed he tries hard to be something bigger than he is even before the election campaigning. His philosophies were always just bits and pieces. So when he says slavery was a choice, he really thinks he's onto something that's just hard to understand. He obviously doesn't mean straight up what it sounds like. It's an incoherent, fake-woke statement basically. The dude even said Hillary was cool and he's a Trump supporter, lol.
But honestly, the left is pretty dumb these days and the right has this massive circle jerk that revolves around Trump with all this energy and Kanye happened to fall into this circle-jerk. It's not a big deal as annoying as they are.
Trump hasn't done or suggested of doing anything that would intentionally hurt black people and yet the left is acting as if Kanye betrayed his race. I'm not Kanye but I think that he probably has had the mindset that the democrats in 8 years haven't really helped people (true or not, Obamacare seemed like a decent attempt to help the poor in general), and he sees Trump as in outsider like himself.
That being said, leave Ye alone T_T
