Don't think I'm a traitor for saying this, but Boruto is one stylishly impressive character.. far beyond Sakura and iconic characters like Sasuke in regards to it. Anyone that says they don't like how Boruto's pants still sag despite wearing an eight foot long belt is lying to themselves.

It means permanent in the sense of it being there to begin with and long after.

You can literally use it in the context of all three definitions save for arguably essential and it still makes sense. Especially considering the salt has been there from the beginning with Boruto
