This is very cliche of you, it’s funny. I knew you would post this. You are so transparent. It’s as if I can read you like an open book.

Listened to the whole song. Thanks for introducing me to it.
The two male feminists on my thread.

Who cares if I introduced you to it, the point is...he's trying to cop off of Busta Rhymes style. Look at him.

But since you're uncultured, I wouldn't expect you to understand.

If Busta Rhymes is considered "cultured" to you, shouldn't you appreciate someone attempting to emulate him? You're probably one of those guys who always complain about the new stuff that gets put out too.

My first post was meant for this reply. Do you see how predictable you are?

J cole is a wannabe, and so are you.

What he's doing is appropriating culture...

I hate reverse psychology.

I feel it is pointless.

I don't make threads just to have a bunch of liars swarm under my thread topic. It's just a waste of time. Why don't you two spend more time loving yourselves, rather then living through women and recovering your egos.

This is an interesting thread with a lot of well constructed arguments, and it's definitely a subject I think about often. Obviously, the answer to this question is highly subjective, and I don't believe there is a single right answer. I like reading everyone's opinion on the matter, though, and I hope this discussion goes on

He’s literally half black; and do you think Drake and The Weeknd are culture vultures also?
The weeknd is black. Ethiopians are black, and the weeknd is unique, so he cannot be compared to rappers, especially since he's alternative RnB.

And yes, drake is a wannabe, however he's a creative genius, his talent makes up for it. J cole, is sloppy, to be honest...and his video concept...screams "wannabe".

I can see that. My definition of culture vultures are Fat Joe, Pig Pun (regardless of how good he was) as examples of Dominicans and Latinos and Macklemore, Paul Wall and Iggy Azalea for the whites.

Fat joe, Pig bun...are considered black latino descent. They're not "half & half", they come from a long line of mixed ancestry, they're not any particular race. Everyone knows this. Most domincans are considered "afro-latino".

Macklemore is a wannabe, paul wall is permissible, but is a joke, and iggy azalea is "okay", but a loser.

Paul wall means nothing by what he does.Macklemore is a straight up loser, as well. And iggy, you get use to her...but has loser tendencies.

They aren’t considered Afro latino, they may have African ancestry (which I highly doubt they do) but they aren’t afro-latino. And if they are, they’re still less “black” than J Cole lol.

They are.

And then you can't line up someone like Fat joe, who has black features, grew up in black/hip hop culture, from the bronx, is puerto rican, with the likes of "J.Cole" who's literally half white, half black...he isn't necessarily one of us, just conveniently.

Fat joe isn't "half white", nor is "big pun"...they're amongst black people, and it's simple as that. It's always been that way.

They're not in the same category, and people would laugh to see that you're trying to accuse them appropriating something that they basically lived and breathed throughout their entire lives. J cole, is conveniently black.

Lmfao you do realize how warped that perception is, right? No where in their entire lives have either of them spoken on their alleged African ancestry but you’re saying that someone with actual black ancestry, one of his parents in-fact, is less “black” than them.

They’re (Big Pun and Fat Joe) literally appropriated black culture, said the ‘N-word’ and Fat Joe even stated that hip pop was originally black music; he didn’t consider it theirs until he saw other Latinos taking part in it. J Cole may not have been a “thug” but he’s more entitled to respect amongst black people than Fat Joe and Big Pun Lol.

Btw, there are also countless people that would back me on them appropriating black culture also.

Latino is an "ethnicity".

You can't tell me about big pun or fat joe, they're well respected, and have street cred. You're simply showing favoritism towards J cole, it's as simple as that. You're literally just fabricating this information. It doesn't matter, big pun and fat joe aren't WHITE or raised by WHITE PEOPLE, they grew up in the projects of the BRONX. Simple as that, they have rights, it's their culture.

You don't know what you're talking about.

J cole is HALF white, and grew up in fayetteville, north carolina...he's conveniently black. He cannot be compared to legends who lived/breathed black culture, such as Big pun and Fat joe. I shouldn't even be comparing, to be honest. If anyone does back you up, it's cause they're biased.

J cole knows little to nothing about the legend Busta Rhymes, from brooklyn, so he has no right copping his style. It ain't his right.

You need more than just being half black.
