Artist, DJ and producer Tim Bergling, a.k.a. Avicii, died this afternoon in Oman, according to a statement from his rep. He was 28.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii,” the statement reads. “He was found dead in Muscat, Oman this Friday afternoon local time, April 20th. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.”

He had retired from live performing in 2016, citing health reasons. He had suffered from health problems for several years, including acute pancreatitis, in part due to excessive drinking. He had his gallbladder and appendix removed in 2014.

Meh, sad, that such young person dies, but wasn't his fan and I think his music sucked anyway. I am more concerned about deaths of innocent people in Syria after Western bombing.

It's sad but, yeah. There are thousand of people around the world dying and tbh, I never liked his musics too.

So you're only sad about someones life if it's somewhere you've never been or have a connection with?

Does that make sense?

Everything he did, lead up to him dying. How can you feel sorry, for a self-saboteur?

What can you say?

Because it's sad.

I wasn't a fan but I have started to listen to his music now cus he is gone, it's like perfect for radio in the summer. It's sad.

When you realize how much of a struggle life is, or you reach rock bottom...you learn how pointless it is to take the death of someone you've never met, personally. It gets old, because not only is there so much going on in this world, you realize that people die all the time...and that choosing to stress over someone elses death, is just selective favoritism and just makes things harder for yourself.

Especially someone who wasn't responsible enough to take care of his own health. He threw his own life away, he didn't care. Somehow, he ended becoming an alcoholic, from compulsively drinking. That's selfish and inconsiderate.

He killed himself.

There is thing called empathy you douche. And I do have connection, being human being and knowing what Syrian people are going through, because my country has gone through that too.

You chose to be sad, you self-righteous narcissist. It's your guilty conscience, really.

You people entitle yourselves to inserted "empathy". It's not real, it's fake.Just enabling things. He's dead, and he killed himself.Couldn't care less for himself. Take this as a lesson.

And then try to make the other person look bad, just cause he's being true to himself.

I'm not saying you should ignore other people's deaths, and if someone close to me would die I would probably value that more, I would't need it to become public.
Even if people live stupidly or they straight up commit suicide, it's still sad. When Chester Bennington died or when Paul Walker died, that was sad.

And Swedish too.

Yes it's all over the news here, that probably makes it more personal.
His teacher said she gave him a high grade even though he wasn't in class.
He had talent.
But I was sad when Chester Bennington died aswell I listend alot to Linkin Park when I grew up.
I started listening to Avicii now after he died, the music videos are all terrible but the music is like perfect for summer it seems. He had talent. Like radio popcorn,.
