Yeah Sasuke should've tried those spike when he got slapped lol. In fact Raikage's arm was still intact when he was going for the leg drop, so sure it probably would've pierced(not cut off) his leg but he'd have still landed the kick on Sasuke with the same force. Sasuke would've died while the Raikage still had a chance to survive at the cost of one of his leg and arm.

based off the scan and where ay's leg came in contact with garra's sand that would have been sasuke's head.

On the flip side only ay's leg made contact with the same so it's safe to assume it would have been the same had it made contact with the flames(meaning only his leg would be affected, for reference only his arm was affected by the chop attack earlier). I don't think the flame has enough physical substance to slow raikage down like gaara's' sand did, and we already know that ribcage susanoo is useless here (i mean if it worked or did anything amaterasu/enton wouldn't be necessary), so it seems to me it was a last ditch effort on sasuke's part to try save himself from death.

I just read the chapter again, Sasuke was going to off Raikage, his chop did f'all I dont see how his leg would fair any better especially against Enton. Ay's lucky Gaara stepped in and stopped the fight otherwise Kumo would've been looking for their 5th Raikage.

The Raikage slapped through normal Amaterasu flames while the legdrop would have landed on a enton kagutsuchi which sliced branches from the god tree no problem. The Raikage would have lost his leg whilst losing all the impact of the leg drop. Sasuke survives that no problem.

Also, Cee and Darui state that his strongest attack is 'Liger Bomb,' which didn't break Susanoo at all. So these are three things going against these idiotic claims. No need to butt heads with fools--Sasuke haters are a loopy, braying bunch, so you can't expect reason from them anyway. Best to be a spectator and watch them seethe with rage!

I like how you say the bold as if raikages leg is just going to magically move through several solid enton spikes unharmed and get to susano. Erm no, those spikes could have cut and sliced off his leg through his turso thus severely reducing the power of his attack, which whatever impact remains, susano can tank. A small amout of the flames have already been shown to breach his armor with the raikage needing to cut his arm off. Now flames with far more quantity and this time shaped as spikes would logically do even more damage. War arc sasuke has shown that his spikes indeed cutting/slicing ability

Also the first point is speculation. Sasuke could have also put those spikes as a form of defense to ensure the raikage would be impaled before he is able to reach susano, or if he was going to go down, at worst case, take the raikage with him.
