With the chuunin exams (movie arc) arriving soon, we are bound to learn more about the ohsutsuki clan as new characters and new feats are likely to be introduced. So in preparation, I wanted to take some time and recap the ohtsutsuki clan, its members, and explore possible plot points using all officially released material to date.


Part 2- Traversing Through Space


Kinshiki has a spacetime jutsu that allows him to access kaguya’ world, yet we’ve only seen him with byakugan. So how does he do it? I believe it’s because kinshiki doesn’t just have byakugan, but also a third eye like kaguya(post chakra fruit). I believe this for several reasons.

For one, kinshiki had the iconic horn for it like madara did(which would’ve stayed hidden if madara didn’t break it off to cast infinite tsukuyomi), so he might’ve kept his third eye hidden behind his intact horn. Which could explain why he was mad at Sasuke for damaging it; Momoshiki even called kinshiki careless because his horn got damaged. Secondly, Sasuke and nagato had rinnegan hidden in plain sight, but it was because of their hair rather than a horn. So, I don’t think it’s too much to say kinshiki’ was hiding one behind his horn as well. Momoshiki, during his debut, was genuinely surprised to find Sasuke staring back at him with a rinnegan. That hair does a good job at hidding dojutsu, I’d imagine a fixed horn would work just as good if not better. Another reason being that momoshiki himself gained a third eye after consuming kinshiki. This is very telling for the simple fact that Momoshiki also gained kinshiki’ chakra weapons after consuming him. I believe it makes just as much sense to credit Momoshiki’ forehead dojutsu to kinshiki as it does his chakra weapons. Much like how orochimaru gave people the power of senjutsu via his curse mark and how hagoromo gave Sasuke and Naruto Spsm and Rinnegan, kinshiki through his own chakra gave Momoshiki those two powers. My fourth and final reason is because of kinshiki’ resolve in the movie. Kinshiki for some reason decides to sever the god tree, what could be the importance of this if he wasn’t somehow connected to it. Moving on.


Momoshiki apparently had a spacetime jutsu of his own. The boruto novel states he created a parallel dimension, and in the movie he stated that him traveling through space is why he was so low on chakra pills.


Last but not least there’s kaguya. How exactly did kaguya arrive on the planet and how far did she have to travel to get there? Well we know two things about kaguya when she first landed, she only had byakugan and that the moon didn’t exist yet. So she must’ve travelled from a place further out than that. Add in the fact that she only gained her third eye and spacetime jutsu after she ate the chakra fruit, and you start to paint of picture of her traveling without relying on such powers. If kaguya did in fact travel through space unassisted, she would have pulled off yet another impressive feat. One that’s likely to give her an upgrade.

What I've taken from this thread is that Not all S/t techniques are dojutsu related

Yes he did have a Space jutsu, maybe like the kamui. But not instant like Kaguya.

Also, she was looking for chakra fruits so she must have known about chakra so she could also use these kind of jutsus already.

I never equated kinshiki’ spacetime jutsu to kaguya’, not sure why you made the distinction. Also kaguya only gained that jutsu after consuming the chakra fruit. Kinshiki’ jutsu does look like obito’ kamui Or shin’ jutsu, but as an ohtsutsuki, his jutsu might all be kekkei mora’ like kaguya making them on another scale altogether.

Of course kaguya knew about chakra, why else would she land on the planet(or any planet). That still doesn’t explain how she travelled there though. Again the spacetime jutsu feats she has are all post eating the chakra fruit.

That’s been known since part 1. Summonings are spacetime jutsu and so is ftg, neither of them require dojutsu. On the other hand, kinshiki’ jutsu resembles that of one which relies on dojutsu and large chakra reserves.
