Ask yourself how is ems obtained. By transplanting anothers eyes and merging chakras resulting in a new stronger dojutsu. Obito's connection to kakashi came from kakashi transplanting obito eye. In the end we learned chakra connects people beyond they physical plane of existence and this guy was born.

Well obviously sasuke seen/felt something, why else would he mention his brother as such? Even kakashi got obito's history and feelings through dojutsu connection.
