I think it's a ghost eye like it's cut out but he still has it when he opens his eye.

Boruto only have 1 to begin with and its on his right eye only so i dont think AO going to take his eye since we clearly see that Boruto still have it when he fight against kawaki but Ao might try to destroy boruto eye (probably Ao is the one who slash boruto eye) and boruto end up being unable to use his eye technique until he fight kawaki
