Yea but how can base lee be harder to beat than Kyubi clone army going all out? I'm really wondering about the scale here. Unless Base Lee's raw skill alone is what makes him harder than Kn0 despite the gulf in speed.

Taijutsu skill difference. If Naruto cannot overpower Lee in speed (which, according to Kimimaro, may be the case since he did compliment Lee on his speed and not Naruto) then it boils down to the best fighter, and that's a no brainer. Numbers may not matter, specially against drunken Lee which fights in a very unorthodox way.
Uhh I'd say that Naruto takes it but it would be an interesting fight to watch. If Naruto created a bunch of shadow clones which each used rasengan, and then sent some underwater to do the same thing, Lee might have some issues. Taijutsu wise, however, Lee probably outclasses in this case. In my opinion, Lee's drunken taijutsu is faster, and Naruto's has more strength behind it.
