The so-called invincible weapon, the totsuka blade.....was useless against Oro, he litterly solo'd its hype by escaping the sealing process using a single small white snake. If he had enough chakra, he could've just used oral rebirth and kill Itachi.

He was about to break out of a 3t sharingan genjutsu (despite the fact that this is the first time he fought an Uchiha member) made by Itachi, the most skilled genjutsu user in the whole series.

As for Sasuke, it's seriously funny that Oro could have easily killed him if he didn't try to take over his body. Re-watch the fight.

Btw, Kishi confirmed Oro will outlive everyone at the end
So he'll get stronger and gain a sharingan, use sage mode to its full extent (he can do that already), perfect Mokuton, learn more sealing jutsus, create more synthetic summonings, get himself an Uzumaki body, etc....and BOOM, he's already above the likes of Madara:sdo:

That was Itachi going easy on him. Itachi has this habit of not revealing his full power in one on one confrontations ; look at the Kabuto fight , Kabuto says "Itachi you had many techniques and many powers" proving he never went out in not even Edo form. His genjutsu cannot be detected by Ao's sensory division and Ao detected KA and Obito's Three Tails Genjutsu. If itachi was going all out , the genjutsu would be so potent , he would fail to realize he is in one , let alone even cone close to try breaking it. Sasuke's statement implies a nursery level uchiha is the minimum requirement for defeating Orochimaru, so all adult Uchiha would be capable of soloing him. Totsuka blade + Yata Mirror devastated his best technique, and that was an itachi holding back yet again as Tobi said "Itachi was fooling you till the very end" proving Yata and Totsuka could have had better feats but Sasuke was watching so Itachi had to nerf it a bit to not reveal it's full strength. Proven by the fact he gave Orochimaru time to talk even though Orochimaru wouldnt say anything noteworthy.

A ninja, especially a kage, should never let their guards down. Especially around a shinobi with Oro's reputation. A Sannin, former ANBU, 4th Hokage prospect, a Missing-Nin, mad scientist, etc. All this info would be in the Bingo Book for rogue and renegade ninjas.

-Still a threat to the point where Yamato has to follow him around all day and night.
