My buddy is shipping out in 15 weeks and I spoke to the recruiter yesterday, and I decided to enlist.

If I want to ship out with my buddy, I'll have to work very hard within 15 days.

Currently I can't get past 3 pull-ups.

Would you recommend for me to train for extended periods of time before shipping out, not shipping out with friends.

I am training hard now but I'm not sure if I will be in the best shape in just 15 days.

Another friend gave me a pyramid training to do for 8 weeks

Truth of the matter is that 15 days really isn't enough, but you will be training everyday in boot camp/basic training so you will get in shape pretty quickly over the course. If you are serious, just do what you can do now, give your body some time to rest before hand (you will need it) then go do your thing. What branch are you joining though?

You aint gonna get in shape with only 15 days lmao. Even if you're already in shape (not obese/overweight) and simply wish to build up your strength/endurance - 15 days isn't nearly enough time. For starters, it's unhealthy to exercise the same muscle/region for hours upon hours every day; you need to give your body ample time to rest and recover in-between workouts otherwise you're doing more harm than good (that's why people alternate between "leg days" and "arm days" for example). So that right there is going to cut your 15 days down to about 8 days.

However, like someone above mentioned, you're going to be sent to bootcamp so it's not like you're completely screwed. Bootcamp I believe is 3 months, and they're going to work you like a dog so you'll be whipped into shape by the end of it. It's just highly recommended that you have good endurance before going to bootcamp, because again they're going to work you like a dog. If you can't run 10 miles at a steady pace without stopping then I would reconsider your enlistment for a few more months so you can properly prepare your body.

Dont join the military bro, it's the worst move you can make.

As for trainig pullups try pyramids with your friend.

You do 1, he does 1, then you do 2 he does 2. And you stop short of failure you can do dozens of reps that way without fatigue. Next day you'll do more and build up to a high level.

You're heavily influenced by outside sources. Sorry to say.

It's no good for you.You allow them to put the battery in your back, rather than thinking for yourself.

Can I ask a question, WHY are joining the selective services? Are you trying to compete with other men, or appease to them?

It sounds like you're just trying to validate yourself, trying to prove that you're "man enough"...sorry to break it to you, but all those males are super insecure, and super self-contradictory.

Don't be a self-righteous puppet.

Don't listen to either. Neither know what they're talking about. Do what you want.

Advice from me would be to not join u just to be with your friend. Having a friend in training with you will be the best way for one of you to get kicked out. You'll make new friends and you will likely not see each other until the holidays after you graduate anyway. Another reason is because you're simply not ready. Yeah, you could get into shape while you're there. But odds are you will injure yourself in the process and will get sent back home with nothing to show for it. It happens every day. Stay home a few months.

Make sure this isn't some fringe decision because it could potentially ruin your life. The military can be an amazing advantage to a wonderful life or the worst thing you've ever done. It all depends on you and how serious you take yourself. Make your mind and body stronger and get a later ship out date. You'll thank me later for it.

Your ****ed, prepare to get demolished in basic training. My sister enlisted in the U.S. army and thought a month would be enough time to get back in shape. She wasnt fat or anything, she just doesnt run or lift on a regular basis.

Now shes going through the most brutal training of her life that's (so far) given her a swollen foot, fractured ankle, and optimized stress. She's on crutches atm.

Im thinking about joining the air force after I finish my first year of getting my M.B.S., but Im making sure Im in peak physical condition before I even speak to a recruiter.

Joining the military just for vanity purposes, is incredibly shallow and materialistic.. Anyone who goes in to stay in shape, definitely deserve the hardships...for being so irresponsible and super careless with their life.

At bold: Okay, captian america...hopefully when that happens you become their first candidate for the first ever "super human meta-genes" injections, cause you're just so special and important.

I swear, people and their perfectionist complexes. They think physical health/ somehow compromises for being incredibly mentally undeveloped.
