I have no problems with children having similarities to their parents that's to be expected, he has no similarities to the others you mentioned they're trying to force that on us. Anyway I wanted to see something more original not just a money maker he will be known as clone until then. His self obsessed attitude random emo fits,, TNJ, recklessness, SCJ and rasengan attacks I'm pretty tired of it(Naruto) and in the future they'll try and make him into Sauce.
I guess what I want/wanted was a different lead character at the moment everything focuses on him and it's all about him and what he does it's getting annoying, this may sound strange but I initially like Boruto but that changed drastically.
As for the SCJ and rasengan thing, those are just a couple of similarities, which is to be expected (as you and I both said). Boruto doesn't really use them 24/7 like Naruto did, and Boruto is actually alot more versatile than what Naruto was (ie. gale palm, lightning triple, thunderclap arrow, surging sea, etc..). SCJ and rasengan are just two commonalities, and if Boruto is clone-like for simply having them, then I could also call Kakashi, Konohamaru, Minato and Jiraiya also clone like because they too were also capable of using both shadow clone jutsu and rasengan.
His personality is also very different from Naruto's. Naruto may have had his flaws, but he was never really the lazy type. Boruto throughout the whole beginning was about acing everything without trying, not having to work hard, taking short cuts, etc...
Naruto was never like that. From day 1, we even saw him training his heart out to learn SCJ.
Unlike Boruto, Naruto also never almost rejected or refused to go on a mission just because he didn't like something or someone (whereas Boruto almost refused to go on the mission to Ryutan city).
Academically, Boruto is smarter than what Naruto was, as shown in earlier episodes of the anime.
Etc... Naruto and Boruto are two very different characters with a few similarities (which really just come from being father and son).
Also, as much as you may hate it, Boruto does have similarities to Sasuke, Kakashi, etc...
The academic smarts and the versatility in arsenal at an early (academy) age are two such examples.
Boruto's desire for quick power at points is an example of similarity to Sasuke.
Even in terms of physical stuff:
The possession of a unique Otsutsuki related dojutsu in one eye is similar to Sasuke (with the singular rinnegan) and Kakashi (scar over eye).
Boruto also has a cursed seal like Sasuke did. Etc...
I don't know why you deny these similarities. You may not personally see him as a prodigy, but the author and the narrative (and characters such as Kakashi) do.
I agree with you that it's annoying that they solely focus on him though. However, he is still a different character from Naruto and in no way clone-like.
Just out of curiosity: At what point did you like Boruto? What did you like about him and when did the change to disliking him occur?
