How does that change this? The world is capable of indirectly comparing the Yonko you know. Plus, didn't they tell us that Kaido has ran up on other Emperors before?

If the top tiers were all an extreme diff for each other, then the WG wouldn't be able to notice the tiny gap between them just by indirectly comparing them. Oda never told us when those fights occurred and whether or not they were a 1v1, so you can't really use Kaido getting captured of top tiers having a 1v1 fight since they could have occurred before he was a Yonko and Kaido could have been fighting a Yonko + their crew by himself.

Yes you could. Just compare the kinds of damage they were able to dish and the kind of damage they were able to take. If Kaido destroyed 8 mountains on a rampage and Shanks destroyed 7 during a fight, you can conclude Kaido is stronger. Simple.
