It does. The gates amplifies the existing power of the ninja, so if the base material is below average, the gates can only do so much. Since Gai is the man when it comes to taijutsu, opening the gates for him gets him to the point he was ***** slapping a juubi jin (which by no means Dai would be able to do so)

In 99% of the cases, it does (like this here). Again, there is a very good reason he didn't even make it past genin, and using taijutsu only is no excuse as both Lee and Gai proven.

So, where was it confirmed that Dai killed the swordsmen? cause as far as I know, the fat guy with Samehada survived the encounter. Also, let's use that as an example, shall we? A genin with the 8th gate opened couldn't kill a swordsman that was soloed by Kisame which in turn was manhandled by Gai in 7th gate.

So yeah, please bring me proof that at least he killed the others or something.

Kisame wasnt there and 7 mist ninjas are dead so there is your proof. Maybe the fat guy only survived the rest are dead. If the fat guy was even there, since he is some sort of leader and gives orders/missions.

So,i guess Fat guy survived and the bottom right ninja that was teamed up with Itachi in the filler - which makes him canon. The rest are dead since they are brought back by edo tensei
