What sasuke used against deidara was body flicker. Tobi exclaimed he used that. And deidara managed to react and jump backwards. Yet deidara claimed he wouldn't be able to tackle his normal foot speed and decided to go up in the sky. The only reason deidara dodged the body flicker is because body flicker is linear movement. You cant change trajectories while using that and thats why sasuke didnt jump over the sky and cut deidara up in there. And chidori blade was hyped to cut anything so even if nagato reacts and dodges body flicker, hebi mode body boost will catch him and whatever attack nagato can throw sasuke can evade with his sharingan, even with base 3tomoe he evaded V1 A and punched him.

Deidara’s animal path allows Nagato to fly too, but my point exactly. Sasuke’s teleportation art is linear, so he’ll slash Nagato but Asura path can tank it or intercept it mid way by holding his limbs.

Nagato is not fast enough to chase Sasuke everywhere but he is capable of counterattacking people with faster linear speed. And that way he can use shinra tensei or bansho tenin black chakra weapon stab combo to kill Hebi Sasuke.

So deidara was scared of sasuke's normal footspeed which he used after body flicker and thats why he decided to go up. If sasuke goes hebi mode he can suppress attraction power by pushing lightning blade into the ground/use fireball/fire dragon technique when he closes near nagato. the attraction power would increase the force of the fire dragon and render much more injury than a normal one to nagato. Chidori sword slicing is also an option and i don't think asura path can tank it when it passed right through sage madara effortlessly. The summon up above the air can be stopped by this

With Pain bodies he powers are split so you can exploit each weaknesses one body at a time with something like Toad Sage Fist or some other high level form of Physical art while saving Deva for last, however in Nagato's case it doesn't work that way. Because if you use Toad Sage Fist/Physical art then you're immediately getting stopped by Shurado and then a Shinra tensei at the same time.

Chidori is not just a lightning technique. Kakashi called it a physical attack. He said it in japanese "butsuriyu kogeki" referring to chidori which means physical attack. Kaguya didn't absorb chidori but instead tried dodging it. That's full proof it can't be absorbed. Chidori blade sliced madara and even though madara reacted he couldnt absorb the lightning of the blade. Kakashi threw some chains to a boulder and resisted bansho tenin for some time didn't he? Sasuke can use genjutsu to hypnotize nagato and then slice him.
