Back in the day my friend had an excellent theory that theorized the her two sons were in fact two zetsu who have matured to the pinnacle of what was possible for humans that have been taken by the god tree and she was just calling them her "children" and not her actual children.

That would have been a nicer reveal than what we got tbh. Currently, there's been threads actively questioning why Kaguya didn't have tenseigan, people wondering why she didn't have rinnegan, etc, then there's the mystery of what could fodder zestu even do to the like of Otsutsuki. This would solve all that..
