How do think Kakuzu survived his encounter against Hashirama?

In what seems like a suicide mission given to him by the leader of Hidden Waterfall Village Kakuzu has been assigned to assasinate Hashirama but failed to do so but this is before Kakuzu stole secret techniques from his village so my question is how do you think Kakuzu survived his encounter with Hashirama before he acquired Earth Grudge Fear?

Naruto outsmarted his opponent in most of the fights. Even neji.

Naruto was compared to shikamaru in terms of intelligence. So i suggest people don't underestimate him in that field. Kakuzu was so powerful not even kakashi could handle him and i believe kakashi was called the strongest jounin in the leaf in part 1. Pain/nagato was also outsmarted by naruto so nagato is automatically dumb? Kakuzu without earth grudge fear had water element as his affinity I think he could've had some pretty powerful techniques otherwise the village wouldn't have send him to assasinate hashirama. His speed seems to be on par with kakashi who was said to be the second fastest ninja in part 1 in terms of pure footspeed, kakashi improved in part 2 so we've to take that into consideration.

Kakuzu's domu was said to render any physical attack ineffective. This is after he faced hashirama and lived some centuries to face the new generation. And that hype was not proven wrong by the fact only Raikiri which is stated to cut everything in Databook has only pierced his defense + raikiri is raiton technique which counters domu which is earth based. Kakuzu realized kakashi without looking at him by judging the technique proving only something of the level of raikiri and a raiton base technique can pierce it. Probably six paths powers could also damage because it was not known at that time.

Kakuzu was meant to be high tier (like all akatsuki). Kishi hyped him up to match hashi (in 07) but as time went on, kishi didnt give a damn about the story and the powerscaling went off the rails.

Lol your funny .. narutos intelligent is all in the art of deception.everything else hes literally brain dead. The only nin jutsu he knows is transformation, shadow clomes, rasangan amd summoing. And naruto is god damn good at it to. Hes been faking out opponents since zabuza.
