Every now and again I think about how pointless being old can be. Think about it, you either end up being treated like a baby(which some of you like) by your family or sent to a retirement home to be controlled and treated like a child.

Now, some people want to live to be old because they fear death, but really, the older you get the more USELESS you get.

The purpose of getting that old, would probably be just to see things through, when it comes to family...not for the "merit" or because you fear death so much. I rather die in my sleep then live to be old in a retirement home being treated like a fool and having my every move monitored...however it works.

At least I can be a healthy, moving man with functioning senses and sensible enough to know what's going on and speak up about it...just so I can at least do things for myself and see MY family possibly flourish.

Sometimes old people are really remarcable. These days passed away in our country a 101 years old historian, and he was never treated like a child, and he was a personality. So your description about old age is not always right. I gave you just one example but there are many.

I have to agree with some of you points.
If I get old, I would like to be able to take care of me, to still be active, to fully enjoy my life, to not be a burden to my family. I realize that I have to be taking care of myself, my mind, and m body from younger ages if I want to achieve al that. And that's what I'm doing now.
I can only imagine what will happen to me in future, but I know for sure I don't want to live so long that I would lose taste and joy in life. I don't want end up being bored and have nothing exciting to do when I'm old. It all depends on me. That's a good point, and young people should be thinking about the time they are old and do something to better it.

I'd only help someone that I know puts enough effort into helping THEMSELVES.Someone with good character and high self-esteem. Someone with something to offer, not a charlatan.

Help those who "cut it" in reality, not those with who are generally co dependent with a sense of entitlement. Those are the undeserving, for the simple fact that they'd just take advantage of you.No respect.

Never extend a hand to a saboteur that's jealous of the attributes of another.

Thank God, I've met some wonderful and thankful people so far in this life. People who don't expect much from you and take you the way you are worth my time and support. People who are appreciative of your efforts.

I actually do agree with you for once. I think there comes a time when the best years are behind you. I know some person reading this might think some bullshi* like "oh that's not true, my Grandma achieved her dreams at age 83". Guess what?
