If I'm not mistaken all elements function differently. A lightning rasengan would likely be more like a rippling rasengan, it would be unlikely for it to retain the form a rasengan.

I look forward to it either way, however I prefer her launching Indra's arrow and using a shadow clone jutsu to create a rain or spray of arrows to decimate her opponents. Maybe she could use the rasengan's spin to amp it's drilling/piercing power.
