I don't think it has anything to do with racism based on the crime statistics. I mean, i'm not saying there isn't racism but you should consider the fact that they commit most crimes despite being a minority and it may have something to do with it.
Well i mean they do have an excuse, but that's the point, that's all it is, an excuse. There's no legitimate reason to be pissed off at someone you don't even know, who has never done or said anything to you. That is just petty.
I agree, any sort of racism is wrong, this goes both (all) ways. And these shows are indeed fueling the racial divide.
You’re being illogical. 99.9% of criminals don’t begin their day saying “Damn, it’d be real fun to rob a store today and possibly spend years in prison.” In most cases, these people are thinking “I can’t afford to pay rent and feed my family, and I need quick cash.”
Crime statistics in the United States have
everything to do with racism, actually.

There are a lot of factors that go into crime statistics. You can’t just take it at face value and say “Oh, this race commits more crimes, so clearly they’re a detriment to society.” Instead, you need to step back and ask yourself why it’s happening. Because I can guarantee you if white people were on the other side of this racial divide in America, the crime statistic would be vastly different. It’s easy to say that minorities should simply “do better in school” or “get better jobs” when they aren’t privileged enough to live in suburban neighborhoods in the USA. idk if you’re aware of this, but school budgets are based on property taxes from the surrounding residential areas. So, a school in the suburbs would naturally have a larger budget than a school in, say, Compton California (a primarily black neighborhood). School budgets obviously determine things like textbook sales, teacher quality, etc.
It’s actually soooo ignorant to just claim that talking about contemporary racism is an “excuse”. You have to understand, things like the Atlantic Slave Trade, segregation, red-lining, are all issues that still have consequences that are still being felt today. “You weren’t a slave, so you can’t be angry about slavery”, “Segregation didn’t happen to you, why are you angry?” Well, yeah, but you have to understand that if you’re born poor in America, it’s not easy to claw yourself out of that pit. And people have been being born poor for generations. I’m not even black bro, but this is soooo easy and plain to see in America. But yea, I’m not offended by this show or anything. Sometimes, it’s interesting to see the racial divide or disparity in America from the other side. I just don’t feel like this netflix show is doing that, and is widening the gap between black/white but yea.
