I'd like to read some of your thoughts on this very serious an sensitive issue..

I for1 have don't have a facepage or twitter but i do brows to see where people are & what they think an it's very disturbing, (At lease in the political realm)..
do you think your being programed to these outlets an or do you think you have control!?..

I think you have to use it right. I think the positives outweighs the negatives. For me at least.
I mean a lot of things are bad for you, It can be addictive but so is sugar and alcohol and those things are accepted in mild doses.

In many ways i believe it is
The controversy around the election, where fake news can spread instantaneously.
Groups where uneducated idiots can unite together and destroy any possibility of intelligent discussion.
The willingness to share excessive amounts of information of their personal lives.
There have been studies that show people who get depressed seeing others wall feeds, its teaching people to inacurately asesses their lives in contrast with what they see on other peoples faceboon not realizing facebooj only shows whay those people want them to see.

I believe we need to teach people to stop investing so much time and importance to these sites.

Well i can agree with you that it should an can be used in the right way but how can one use these outlets in the right way when something you say can get you banned for having a different opinion on any subject or sensitive1's?..
It's very difficult so more than likely you'll sensor yourself so you don't get dislikes or banned all together..

Sean parker is a self-important, self-entitled idealist, with gender identity issues and obsessed with himself. He thinks he's perfect, look at him talk.He says something, anything, and expects everyone to be "amazed" by his speeches...such a self-important guy that's out of touch with reality.

Let's also keep in mind, he has billions of dollars...he has TONS of things to do, to keep him pre occupied...so of course he thinks he's "better than everybody", and thinks that his success makes him "brilliant".So absurd, and quite arrogant.When people stop caring, then he loses his "glory". People gas his head up.

Certainly needs a reality check.

Facebook does a variety of things. You'd have to be on it, to understand...rather than going on facebook to be nosy and snoop in other people's business when you aren't participating.Some of you claim to not HAVE a social media, but definitely go on there to stalk other people's pages. You stay off of it, but snoop in other people's business when you're on it.And then brag about "not having a social media"...as if that somehow makes you "conscious" or "woke" about anything...no, you're out of the loop...and you PEEP in other people's business.You don't like it, then mind your business.

Oblivious people will be just that, oblivious.And people like sean parker, seem like sore losers.

Truth of the matter is, he just makes this stuff up.He thinks he's better.

And it's such a RULE BASED idea that people HAVE to go outside and socialize with eachother, come on, now. You either do it, if it's of any value, or you DON'T.People use social media for a variety of purposes, don't be one-sided...just to push your OWN agenda, and want to make it look as if you've come up a brilliant discovery.

These outlets are or where suppose to bring us closer together but (for me at lease) we are more divided even with those who are actually connected..
It's very difficult to communicate with those who are still plugged in..

Here we go again, biased information. You don't give "Random people your picture and phone number"...you add people you KNOW as friends, and can make your account PRIVATE so only you and your friends who you actually know can be the only ones to see your picture and contact information.

Well for me it's more of not engaging in a site or algorithms that wants to program me, let me be me.. We all snoop or are nosy to some extent.. It's what you do with the info that's key my man..

And maybe learn to take a break from it sometimes.

Getting away from these functions an talking to real people for dopamines is they key like Mark is saying..
Difficult because more than likely you've been in these sysytems for over 5 to 10 years an can't convey your feeling to people..
It's easy to talk hard or be hard behind a screen, (PC) but how do you react when faced with the real world is the most important an these systems are taking that away from us....

We are discussing the negative influential aspects social media has affected society.
I don't personally feel comfortable with information that people just less than two decades ago would think twice about releasing to a public domain and now you are telling me that I "feel left out" I seen how you comment on various threads around here since i joined up and held back in fear i might have you pegged wrong but, there is no doubt about it now.

The genersation growing up and soon to be born are being raised and influenced by technology in a way older generations haven't.Its not a judgement its an objective asessment.
