Naruto was Naruto, Boruto can't compare to Naruto. Think about it Metal Lee a physical thaijutsu specialist maybe learning SCJ to assist in thai jutsu. He could also learn Kakuzu's hardening jutsu. He would be a cool replacement for Boruto and we'd get to see mad thai jutsu.

You have Mitsuki who can use sagemode mode, is an excellent sensor and durable.

Then you have Sarada with genjutsu, sharingan, bukijutsu etc, It would be a well rounded and cool team. They may have to hang the story slightly.
