Does anyone else think his entire message was stupid? I’ll add reasons soon. I just to see if others agree with me before I post some info.

Yes, a man who thinks for himself!

He was RIGHT.

So it was wrong to DEFEND yourself against "white aggression"? I don't disagree with that notion, but at the same time...you gotta know when you're outnumbered.

When you're outnumbed, you gotta get away...especially if you aren't prepared for what's coming, and fight another day. As for MLK jr....his hypocritical "kumbaya" attitude wasn't my taste, but I guess it solved something. It paved a white-wannabe way. His ideals were more "convincing" and seemingly "for the better of everyone"(yeah right, more like "I'm a victim, I'm scared of white people, see our pain and suffering, cry "wolf"). However, Malcom X was more oringal, he knew his WORTH and knew he didn't owe anyone, anything.MALCOLM WAS SICK AND TIRED OF IT, and he had A RIGHT, to rebel!

I mean, I don't fully disagree with Malcom X, he thinks from an individual perspective. Two different perspectives, that I feel make a difference.

I mean defend yourself from ANY kind of aggression, in today's time. Sometimes, they expect you to be a coward. MX's perspective more-so transcends time and place, while MLK is sort of obsolete.

MLK-A pushover, appeasing to the white people and playing the self-righteous act.Disguising it all as "we are all equal".

Malcolm X- I'm black, and I'm proud. "You bust my ass, Imma bust yours!Cause I have worth, too!"That's equality...even though you'd want to play a more tactical approach when it's necessary...THEN bust somebody's ass!

Pompous vs Realistic.

MLK taught black people to play "pathetic", so the whites can show pity on them.Reverse psych-, you know the rest. But, hey, seemed to convince them.Fake it till you make it.

Hmmmm.. the black man was always out numbered in America (and always will be); Malcolms doctrine was along the lines of "unity and aggressive opposition made the black community harder to repress"...

Anyway the difference between MLK & Malcolm is that MLK wanted the white community to be empathic/sympathetic of understanding to our injustices while Malcolm didn't give a damn if did or not. I would even go as far to say that he thought the white man could never put themselves in a black man's shoes period..

If that's how you feel, then that's how you feel. But it isn't an excuse, sorry to say.

"A black man is always outnumbered"...ehh, sounds like it's coming from a place of stereotype and not reality.Depending on the situation, you take a stand. But play your cards right, rather than throwing your life away. That's common sense.

"a black man is always outnumbered"...there's actually no such thing. A MYTH.

Seemingly on the surface...

that's how it appears.

Honestly, whites were afraid of black people, and wanted to keep them under control with intimidation tactics. It was really the other way around.

A bold title accompanied by a pathetic post.No summary of how you came to your conclusion? No frame of reference to back up your claim? Only willing to share said info if you have people to completely agree with you? To all those here at NB is this drivel even worth responding to ? OP clearly does not intend to have a legitimate discussion...all this post will do is bring in mindless ass kissers and an endless argument. I am willing to bet half the people who comment know next to nothing about Malcom X.Freedom of speech should be upheld but i believe if one cannot even properly construct their post or even back up their claim before any disucssions begin then maybe someone should delete or put this thread on hold until it gains subtance before it is allowed to be posted.

Because, again it is clear OP doesn't know the topic, can't construct an argument for said topic and can't construct a proper frame of debate for said topic to begin.

Good luck trying to debunk the entire legacy of a civil rights hero in a forum thread. I bet this won't come off as being spastic or pretentious at all.

I agree with a lot your points and I personally fall more in line with Malcolm X's line of activism. M-X was realistic, whereas MLK was idealistic; I think if black people today had more of M-X's mentality towards black identity, and community, they would be far better off than they are now. MLKs approach was effective to a degree; his philosophy and activism was inspired by Gandhi and Immanuel Kant so it was bound to produce results, but I think M-X's defensive edge would have produce greater results much sooner during the civil rights era, and produced longer lasting results within the black community.

I don't think M-X was perfect, and I do think there's a place for MLK's idealism in the world, but I think MLK's sort of idealism should be only used as a point of inspiration for action, and not placed at the forefront of a movement.

It's not about having an excuse but rather how to black men who dedicated their lives to the same cause but different approaches.

"A black man is always outnumbered"...ehh, sounds like it's coming from a place of stereotype and not reality.

No it's a mathematical fact that their are more whites in America then their are blacks, why did you think it was so easy for slavery or Jim Crow Law's to flourish? Becuase the oppressors had the numbers which come with dominance (White Supremacy). Also i dont see how saying a peraon is out numbered equates to a stereotype, explain please..

Depending on the situation, you take a stand. But play your cards right, rather than throwing your life away. That's common sense.

Both Malcom X & MLK did just that (took a stand) in a time when equality wasn't "common sense" and the both operated on the primis of accepting oppression or keep quite during it was throwing your life away.
"a black man is always outnumbered"...there's actually no such thing. A MYTH.

False whites make up 73.6% of the total population while black make up 12.6% and that just didnt happen over night either. That's just a factual estimate so myth where?

You're speaking from an assumption-based, statistical standpoint. Not a face-to-face, dealing with what's in front of you, stand point.

A black person is not outnumbered, at all times. That's stupid. That's what you've presumed.

And you CAN'T use that as an excuse, because it doesn't apply to every single state.

I'm speaking from person to person, house to house, street to street, neighborhood to neighborhood, town to town, city to city, stand point. You just went above and beyond with it, talking STATISTICALLY wise, just to prove yourself right. And every white person isn't going to go around committing race crimes.Think REALISTICALLY.

That's why I said your statement didn't sound realistic. You're just repeating written, stereotype-based, by-the-book information...it's not reality based. You making those statements lead me to believe that you don't REALLY know what you're talking about...you just know what you were indoctrinated with. That isn't a reality based point of view.

Everybody knows you can strategically overthrow people, no matter who you think is outnumbered "statistically" speaking.

You bringing up "statistics" is actually an asspull, has little to do with the point I'm trying to make.It made you look like a total "know it all"...that wants to repeat documented information just to be right. That's not YOUR infromation, dear, that's someone elses, and pretty irrelevant in a face to face situation.Don't be a plagiarist.

You wanna bring up the WHOLE ENTIRE country.Above and beyond..."collectively" speaking has nothing to do with "face-to-face" situations. You can't adopt the mentality that you're always gonna be outnumbered, everywhere you go.

Not a good look, not a good impression.

Edit: And to add to all that,

That "The black man is always outnumbered" shtick...is just an inferiority complex...get rid of it.

Stop victimizing yourselves.

MLK-Victim, Indoctrinated-based ideals. His ideals are entirely too "negro-spritiualistic" based...and he's full of "big pot of black" syndrome. You ain't GOT to be friends with the next race, just be cordial...haha. He misrepresented the issue. All that needs to be is RESPECT,that should've been the common ground. And whoever wants to be friends can be friends...

MX-Reality, Cause & Effect. A mentality that transcends time and place.Totally thinks for himself...you've mistreated me all my life, now come catch this fade real quick, cause I'm human too, I have feelings too, and I'm not gonna keep putting up with your BS...equality.

But I'd do it all strategically...as you should do anything.

Tbh I don't think he was wrong with using self defense against people trying to kill him for being black (who wants to be killed), just don't preach hate or you're stooping to their level. I find the nation of islam beliefs to be very combative to the average white person, adding fuel to the fire. I tend to prescribe to the "separate but equal" Ideology. With people having the option to integrate if desired.
