awhile ago people called it fodder compared to chidori yet Sasuke in the Shinden channels purple lightning instead of blue lightning through his sword and etc.


Or was that the anime version only? If so I’ll hide away

I haven't got a clue if Sasuke's current is purple it's probably because Sasuke's chakra colour is purple. His Susanoo is purple also indicating the likliehood of Sasuke's chakra colour being purple.

Sasuke used black chidori in the manga after gaining the sof6p chakra.

The only time chakra colour influences jutsu is when it's a jutsu made out of raw chakra, Like rasengan/Susanoo. Also sasuke's chakra isn't as purple as the Anime makes it out to be.

Regular ninjutsu maybe but chidori is trained similar to Rasen shuriken and in the last Rasen shuriken is orange including the wind blades. Anyway it's not really an issue I was giving a possible reason for it if it's legit purple.

How did kakashi make purple lightning then?

similar to how 3rd raikage made black lightning i'd assume. 3rd had Normal lightning (standard blue colour) and Black lightning, same as Darui.

Those are 2 completely different jutsus tho? And the purple chidori was just anime playing with colors. Nice effect but nothing story-driven.

Purple ligthining is > blue lightining (the one used for chodori). If it wasn't like that, Kakashi wouldn't bother in using a different type of ligthining for his shiden.

What could be argued is if Chidori is overall a better jutsu than purple lightining shiden.

thunder>lighting>electricity in term of doing damage and area effect
i don't know about how westerner think but in asian like japan china korea and vietnam
we think thunder = strongest type of lighting because it from sky (god) . infact sasuke Kirin must be purple color in asian mind set not blue

in japanese lighting = rai , thunder = shinden = Magnificent Lightning not just standard blue lighting
