Sasuke is liked not because he is edgy or violent. He's liked cuz he genuinely loves his clan and brother which converted into hatred due to the proceeding factors. More in all, because he is tactical plus effortlessly cool while doing it. The same reason people love itachi. No one likes an un-intelligent moron, not in real life, not in anime, like it or not. Literally no one. That's one of the reasons why Sasuke trumps naruto. Exceptional case, monkey D luffy. Everyone some how love that guy, he has a unique charm.
As for the bully thing, it's sad but there's no escaping that, it's a chess board game, god intended some to be low balled and some to be high balled. You're right some women get some kind of weird sensation when they see bully-like people doing thier stuff; it's not because they love violence, more like they see violent people as "strong, dependable and courageous" according to a research.
We hate hinata for being shy? Can't deny it. No one likes shy people to be blunt, Shy = Boring in our society plus un-attractive and moronic. Unless you've a weird fetish for shy people, this is the case.
And the other reason is well, she's boring apart from her shyness, look at sakura, at least what she does is interesting and "badass" at times, but hinata "na--ru-to k------un"? Like yeah, we now he's named naruto, no need to enunciate it for us. Hinata seriously doesn't have any "badass" moments which makes like her or hold her up in high esteem, and when she tries being in that picture, it's lame. Sad.
Moreover, Sasuke is handsome, his voice is better, his attitude and battle approach better.
The very fact you made this thread makes me feel your problem is not us liking Sasuke but rather a generic jealousy like Dreckerplayer@ said, which most haters actually've against Sasuke; most are jealous because of how cool he is and hawt. You might be one of them, possessing the inability to stand hawt characters.
