"The British government has said that it will guarantee a legal right to high-speed internet for all homes and businesses in the U.K. by 2020.

The U.K.’s Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport has committed to giving homes and businesses, regardless of location, the right to demand internet speeds of at least 10mbps, The Guardian reported Wednesday.

The U.K.’s announcement comes as U.S. customers are facing a level of uncertainty after the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) repealed the net neutrality rules put in place under former President Obama.

Repealing those rules leaves the door open for internet service providers to create “fast lanes,” which could end up increasing costs for customers to access higher internet speeds."

And once again the U.S. will continue to f*** over everyone while other countries do the smart thing.

State attorneys general across the country are suing the FCC that number has increased with even more states and with soon companies that'll be directly affected by the repeal will follow. The repeal isn't a full circle though fcc already removed rules that kept isps from throttling websites. Even several Republicans on Congress are against this repeal and been vocal about it. It is far from over

Well I wish him the worst.

Even with that said, he's still going to make bank for selling out. At the end of the day, Ajit Pai is just a grunt for the ISPs.

Yep. 17 states are standing up and suing the FCC. This whole thing is a mess.

Well this escalated quickly. Not surprising though. Surprised Anonymous didn’t act sooner. Crazy times.

Apparently, Ajit Pai is angry at the media for calling him out. I mean what do you expect?

I hope to receive any info of Ajit's credit card.
States, big companies, small companies, congress.. everyone is coming for Trump's swamp.
People might request Trump to resign.

stop comparing.This aint a competition.thats envy, bro.

anywho,

good for U.K, i guess. I have a hunch they did it to make the U.S look stupid, cause, of course, they think this is a competition. So annoying.

the wording they use is odd..

The head of the department, Digital Minister Matt Hancock, told BBC Radio 4 that the new provision would not mean that all homes would automatically receive faster speeds, but that they would have a legal right to demand it.

“It’s about having the right to demand it,” he said. “It’s an on-demand program. If you don’t go on the internet and aren’t interested then you won’t phone up and demand this.”

i mean you can technically demand faster speed but that doesnt mean it wont come at a higher price, unless im missing something. just that the option now has to be available, in places it wouldnt have been before. i still think its a good move though on their part but it will make it harder for providers to make sure outer limit places still get the same speed as inner cities

really they should pass net neutrality as a right for citizens. doesnt seem like this stops it from ever being taken away from them, that can still happen with this being a right they have. we should also add net neutrality to the constitution, i think it makes sense in this era and how apart of our society its become

I'm starting to notice the difference between the U.K and the U.S...the U.K actually makes sense and has the people's better interest, unless this decision was made to make the U.S look stupid, then you know what that is...the famous "I'm better than".Although, they seem to have some kind of jealousy towards the U.S, though.

Sometimes they'll make you out to be a laughing stock, but it's really just jealousy flipped."Wannabes". I don't look down on a country, I'm not in...I have no time, or no reason.

I'm obviously referring to those responsible. Not everyone, but certainly a lot.
