Everytime I get excited about the spin off cause they incorporate new elements, they take a step backwards and do the same thing over again.

It's really annoying. WE don't want a better Naruto 2.0 story, we want a new story with Naruto elements.

To be fair, Mitsuki hasn't estabilished a relationship with Sarada yet. They barely had any interaction.

If I'm not mistaken, one of the Boruto anime writers stated in an inverview that Sarada and Mitsuki are going to have more interactions and they'll develop a relationship before the movie gets animated.
