At first I didn't know why people were going crazy when Sarada requested their squad name to be called Team 7 instead of Team 3.

Until I looked it up and...

On a serious note, they said that they wanna be better than OG Team 7, and do better than Team 7 did.

Team 7 was the most dysfunctional team we've ever seen, so I don't think the same will apply to the new Team 7 since the authors want to portray them to be a better version of OG Team 7.

Boruto needed them byakugans or actually know how to make his Jougan turn on for it to work

so they too could've been called Team 18 or Team 23
