Pain would demolish the armed forces with his fire-power relatively easy. Nazi Germany came close to conquering the world had it not been for Hitler's decision to invade the Soviet Union. It would be easy for a fictional character who has God-like power to conquer earth easily.

If all humanity has full knowledge and prep time, Pain gets erased from the surfase of earth, but of course takes down many many people. If he just shows up and starts killing out of nowhere he erases humanity.
