conflict n episode drama

but real talk, Kakashi might be able to see character flaws in him that we're going to get to in the Chunnin Exams. Might be a stretch, but Boruto is a pretty unmotivated and directionless shinobi at this point. Kakashi's always been a good judge of character or it could just be different generations conflicting.

Boruto lacks the "IT" factor that all other prodigies had.

I don't think he lacks resolve, more than once he said he wanted to be like Sasuke and support the hokage. I think what bothers the most is that he's a genius that pretty much has anything going on for him without even trying, he doesn't know true hardship like the last gen, like Naruto for example, having his family killed, being shunned by everyone, Pain killing Jiraiya, then in the war having Neji killed, etc. At the very least the last geniuses like Kakashi, Sasuke, Lee (yeah), or Neji had either their parents or friends or clan killed, their foreheads cursed, absolute no talent in other stuff than Taijutsu whatsoever and being ridiculed for that, or something that forced them to push through to get to the place they are now (except Neji ,he's dead)

Eventually that will change as we have seen at the beggining with Boruto and Kawaki, it's just a matter of time to see how they cope with that.

Kakashi doesn't hate Boruto, he doesn't like that this new generation starts to forget what being a shinobi means.

Kakashi is always keeping it real. That's why I fuc with Bolt because he's a different type of Prodigy.

But I know he'll live up to the expectations they have of him at the end which makes for good character development.

I never cared all that much for Kakashi, no matter how hard he tried.Boruto is the kid who does it all, with minimum effort...a different type of ninja.

I think a big part of Boruto's Arc is finally understanding what it truly means to be ninja like the others.

When he undergos hardships, his struggles, and the opening line of him saying "I'm still a ninja".

I'm willing to bet a lot of money that there's a lot more emotional impact when we get to that point in the story

even tho boruto understands what it means to be a ninja post- movie, he hasn't really faced actual hardships. but he will

and that's when he will be tested

The early academy days was entirely built up for his foundation as how Boruto transitioned to being lazy, arrogant, take shortcuts and his lack of enthusiasm as a shinobi. This further pushes the notion that Boruto resentment grown strong toward his father by the time we reach the event of the movie. Boruto never had to work hard for anything and doesn't treat shinobi seriously which is why due to his cockiness he lacks the resolve to become shinobi.

The Mist arc was set to stone for this purpose because in essence, he's living in the era of peace; so in his mindset, Bolt doesn't treat these 7 swordsmen as some kind of threat. He viewed them as some kind of pushover and bullies so when he fought Shizuma and the gangs, he was never really in danger, in fact he manages to hold on his own and ended up success. Boruto bad influences also effect on Sarada simply because she was concern over a roll call.

He also fought great adversary such as the Nue beast but yet he never really struggle for anything which is why he tends to think he can get away from anything based on his life experience he lives in. Kakashi knew this and saw how Boruto could come accross a strong barrier despite his talent which is why he gives him a tough lesson.

He lacks what Make Oro, Minato, Lord Sixth himself, Sasuke, SHisui, Itachi who they were. he's skilled, but he has no motivation. He just lets shih shake and he's excessively cocky. Peep what he says to people, no matter their rank and obvious skill. He always says "You sure, I'm gonna go forreal" or something like that. And his academy classmates, outside of Sarada, depend on him to find the solution to everything. he hates being called the hokaes son and people saying he has it so easy, yet he's pretty much shikamaru 2.0 until shih hits the fan. Copy Ninja soloing and handing out lessons, I love it!

I more so think the lesson he's teaching is team work and I think that's how they might defeat kakashi

Kakashi is hard on him because Sarada is ahead and he wants Boruto to catch up like his father did with Sasuke

He lacks what a shinobi is while on the other hand Sarada doesn't lack anything. She's a true shinobi

@Bold: That was after the events of the Boruto movie (at which point Boruto learned his lesson and changed his attitude). This thread is talking about Boruto's lack of drive before the events of the Boruto movie.

Kakashi fails students who don't work as a team. Cmon guys, it isn't that tough.

A better question would is teamwork being pushed as a theme when we've clearly seen the kids saving each other in combat and combining their abilities to catch the giant fish already?

Hes a genius at his age someone who can be easily turned into the dark side because he has no goals. Bourto is someone who can sway the hearts of other and he could easily start a new akatsuki with his skills. Kakashi , itachi all understood the meaning of talent but bourto just uses it as if its a game.

Because shadow clone is on the same level as copy jutsu mastery :lol

Kakashi is training Sarada to be Sasuke 2.0, in other words Boruto needs to take his skills to a new level if he wants to impress Kakashi, shadow clones is basic shit to him since Naruto normalized it.
