To make it more similar to the description to in the novel?
In the novel his eyes were described to be GLOWING.

Of course the movie was only 1hour and 30mins long so Kishi's ideas mostly got scrapped, one of them being the third Otsutsuki.
And even from that the novel cut a ton of content too although it mentioned at some hints that got scrapped.
So what I am getting at is that Momoshiki might not have a regular byakugan in the new movie adaption arc.
Kishi's true vision of the man will likely be shown in this REAL version of the arc. A version that Kishi wanted to showcase in the first place.
Note Momo's regular byakugan eyes in the movie.
Also the part where apparently he sucked at Taijutsu or CQC even though he has the bloody byakugan or the fact that he was not doing so bad in dodging Naruto's punches when in the arena.
Seems like he got nerfed to make a quick ending in a less then 5min fight.
But now the kid gloves are off and we might see him actually become a threat.
Maybe why they dabbled at a new form in the manga.
Even though it didn't do anything since they just copied and pasted the movie in manga form.
Makes sense since it might lead to Boruto and his Jougan getting the attention again after it was MIA for 2 main arcs.
Would also lead to why Kaguya feared them? Maybe....
I also see some Kara stuff being added into the movie as well... maybe even the genjutsu placed on Katasuke Tōno.
Also the eyes look like a mix between Boruto's Jougan and Hima's byakugan.
ALL of it could just be visual effects for a POSTER THOUGH XD
