New show on History channel starting today about Marvel an DC superheroes. I think its worth watching.

Hope it goes into power fantasies, then we could explore some actual interesting ground rather than a history lesson. The reason why we're drawn to superheroes as a modern mythology is a lot more interesting than the stories themselves.

Well all myths and heroes originally come from the escapism and fun of being powerful and having strength, right? Different superheroes appeal to different crowds. A Wonder Woman fan feels empowered in a different way than a Wolverine or a Magneto fan does.

Superman back in Action Comics was popular because it appealed to little kids and gave them the imagination that they don't have to go to bed early etc. But now these characters appeal to the entire world and have made history in Americana & the film industry. It's insane & there's always an interesting reason why.

Just anything to do with the psychology / philosophy of why heroes are as big as they are, instead of a documentary historical timeline.

I'll watch it if I can, especially bc the name of the doc seems to suggest it'll be more in-depth.

I dont know really I have history channel on my cable tv, thats where I am going to watch it .
