These fillers episode have transformed Danzo in a evil character , except that in reality Danzo was a anti hero.

For example never Danzo would have want to kill Hiruzen.

For Danzo , Hiruzen was an old friend. The relationship between Danzo and Hiruzen is comparable to Tobirama and Hashirama , two very different personalities but they share a relationship. And Danzo respected very much Hiruzen he admited the superiority of Hiruzen.

Never Danzo would have kill Kakashi to take his sharingan , for him Kakashi was a very good element for Konoha , to kill him would be a mess.

Danzo isn't a Nice Guy , but also not a demonic guy. He believed that what he did is good for Konoha , he believed that Konoha need a Dark side and a Light side like the Yin / Yang.

Danzo was nowhere to be found during Orochimaru's invasion. Although his character didn't exist then, story-wise he was definitely alive and chose not to defend the village in any tangible way.

Danzo was nowhere to be found during Pein's invasion, deliberately killing the toad that was to be sent to Naruto to alert Naruto of an invasion. He did this so he could be the one to rise from the ashes and take Konoha as his own, innocent lives be damned.

Danzo stole the eye of a fellow shinobi on the grounds of being unable to trust Shisui, but we both know that Danzo was the untrustworthy one that merely wanted the Uchiha's eyes. Shisui was too naive to realize he was being played, and he got his eye stolen by the very person he should have used Kotoamatsukami on in the first place.

Danzo ordered the genocide of an entire clan, killing many innocent child members of his own village so he could avoid the consequences of having killed their parents.

Danzo manipulated Hanzo into killing a peace organization so Konoha's war effort could be maintained, further destroying the Hidden Rain and ruining said small country for the sake of Konoha's benefit.

Hyper-Nationalism doesn't mean "good". Danzo couldn't care less about being good, moral, or noble.

I disagree hugely. The best villains are villains who have convinced themselves that their actions are for the greater good. Danzo at his source was a coward whose power came from throne-guarding and stemmed from a moment of pure jealousy.

Especially in Naruto, a story where he was proven to be objectively playing into the hands of an evil embodiment of war, BZ. It doesn't make him any less of a developed and interesting character...he just is a well-made villain with realistic political motive.

It's not that he wouldn't want to, he couldn't do so. Hiruzen would have bish slapped him into root and back again.

He didn't have any issues to rip an eye from shisui's face, so yeah, he wouldn't have shed a tear for kakashi either, considering he was a sharingan collector himself.

Danzo was evil, there is no question about it. What you probably mean is that he wasn't evil in a "I-want-to-burn-the-world" kind of way, but he was so in a dictatorship level.

The fillers did flanderize him but he was still more of a villain than morally gray in the end (after Kishi revealed his involvement with other bad stuff like Kabuto's past). I agree that it seemed OOC even for him to try to kill Hiruzen though.
