Difference Between Chakra Potency and Reserves

Which do you guys think is better, chakra potency or large chakra reserves?

Edit: For clarification, with Hashirama for example, 1% of his chakra would be able to create an entire forest. In contrast, with Kakashi, creating 1 Lightning Blade consumes 15% of his chakra. (These numbers are not real.)

With large chakra reserves, let's just say that Hiruzen has 40 gallons of chakra. In contrast, Kisame would have 120 gallons of chakra.

large chakra reserves is better obviously,what good is chakra potency if you cant fight for long.....naruto and kisame are perfect example of the advantages of huge chakra reserves

Chakra potency leads you to be resourceful while higher reserves always you are always you to spam.
It usually depends on the situation and the person though. I’d like Naruto’s vast chakra because he’s shown the most reserves in the series.
But in terms of potency I’m kinda with Sasuke or Tobi.

The question you're raising is false. Chakra potency comes along with Chakra reserves. They're not a separate thing, they're interchangeable. Just like the principles of quantity and quality. You're probably asking the difference between Chakra reserves and Chakra control. Chakra reserves is like Naruto spamming lots of Chakra over a technique, while Chakra Control is spamming little amount of Chakra over a technique.

Chakra reserves: Nagato, Naruto, Kisame.
Chakra Control: Sasuke, Sakura, Tsunade.

I guess you mean chakra control vs chakra reserve. I think these two are tied, since you train your body and spirit to have more reserves, and in turn while training you get adept controlling your chakra. I guess, like everything, it would depend on the mastery level, if the one with better control can compensate the lack of chakra, or the other with a huge amount of chakra can compensate the lack of control.

Kakashi was the best at using his chakra wisely. He preferred to use very small-scale jutsu, ninja tools, and taijutsu. He only used unveiled his Sharingan when he absolutely had to.

But imagine if Naruto fought with such a mind to reserve his chakra. He'd be able to fight for more than a week straight. Well, if he didn't need to eat, drink, sleep, and whatnot.

Edit: Plus Naruto has Sage Mode, which gives extra free chakra. Naruto's too OP.

Well, I have to disagree with you. I may be paraphrasing, but it was stated that the Senju were gifted with powerful chakra, which put them on the same level as the Uchiha since they weren't gifted with the dojutsu. I mean, I don't know any other way to explain it.

Say, Hashirama has 50 gallons of chakra, while Kakashi also has 50 gallons of water. I'm sure you can agree that they both are skilled in chakra control. But because Hashirama's chakra is more powerful, as stated in the manga, it would take Hashirama less chakra to create one clone than it would for Kakashi.

But, if you're talking about Naruto, who has 100 gallons of chakra, he could create twice as many clones as Kakashi and retain the same amount of chakra.

You're saying that one's chakra can be more powerful than the other, not based off of quantity but QUALITY of the chakra. That has to be what you mean.That's incredibly an insult.It comes across as a bit pompous, too.
