How do you think it stacks up to Chidori? Raikri? Do you like the look? I'm wondering because we might see the technique in the upcoming Anime (probably filler-ish?) Arcs upcoming.

Kakashi has this technique and he displayed it against the Nue, and accordingly, .

Weirdly enough we saw him use Gale Palm this Arc, and we know Suiton was stated to have been learned 'recently' during the Chunin Exams Arc. Makes me wonder if he'll learn it through Kakashi or some other means, but I suddenly feel excited.

I wonder if we'll able to see how a 'Chidori-like' technique will be learned on screen, since Sasuke's training as off screen, and Kakashi's too.

well at least we know its output for Kakashi is quite sharp.... did a clean cut without hassle

we don't know if Boruto can't produce the same output though....

plus unlike the chidori/lightning blade we don't know how accurate it is since he made this due to losing his sharringan

but knowing the series Boruto will eventually have both under his wing

This is actually ****ing sick.

"This technique was powerful enough to summon rain clouds when shot into the sky."

Purple lightning can be anything wouldn't necessarily mean he have the same technique as Kakashi.

OT weaker than Chidori but the same basics just no tunnel vision.

Only Kakashi have a technique named "Raiton Shiden" and now Boruto.

Doesn't mean it'll be the same attack. Just like hell stab isn't the same as Chidori/Raikiri. Not saying he don't have it tho.

It's pretty cool. I bet Sasuke and Sarada can copy it using their sharingan. Using improved versions of it

idk Sasuke couldn't copy Chidori /w 2T , he had to train for it. At least I think so.

Idk. The techniques name being similar makes me think the techniques are the same

could be

we have the Genin exams before they become genin

we can see it there
Agreed

He needed to acquire the speed to use it but since this is a weaker version it shouldn't be too hard

Are we assuming it's weak because Kakashi can use it? I feel like it hasn't been presented yet in comparison, which is why it's hard to gauge.

It looks more like a long range technique mixed with Chidori itself. But I think that at a certain point you need some mastery in the elemental nature to copy it.

Sasuke had to learn how to utilize Lightning Release before Chidori:

Knowing kakashi id say it either matches or exceeds raikiri in versatility, but is below it a bit in straight lethality

Learning change of natures is an entry level requirement. I guess to use it will depend on the rank of the technique. I can really only assume this is a spin off of the chidori because this technique only appeared after losing his sharingan. I can only imagine it being a B or A level ttechnique.

I think the only places that it would lack in is accuracy and speed but not power

That makes more sense actually, as accuracy and the sheer speed are what kakashi needed the sharingan for to “complete” chidori in the first place, that works

That's what I think, at some point you have to learn the change of nature for a technique when the level becomes advanced. Though I wouldn't be surprised at later implemented ass pulls.

I think the technique less requires a speed build up, and more so focus on the precision/cutting aspect of Chidori. But it hasn't been given a proper portrayal yet. So far it looks like a purple chidori :lol

Yeah the new gen gets a lot of handouts so I'm sure they will skip training arcs for these abilities. It probably squires less chakra. Boruto and Sarada should just get the real thing. Boruto chidori blade and Sarada gets regular chidori
