Dogtooth has been doing the Aokiji trick from when Whitebeard stabbed him with his Bisento the whole time. But it looks like he has his head back in the game now. Somehow Luffy needs to enrage him again in order to win.

His extra hard haki is an interesting concept. It could be the life savior of Gear 2 and 3 in the future.

Sanji finally has faith in Luffy again after saying it was hopeless for so long and feeling the need to sacrifice himself. He believes in the power of the team again. Probably just in time because I think he will need to hold off Oven in the coming chapters to save Pound and the cake plan.

As I predicted the Fishman Pirates disabled the sea slugs. Really nice of those guys.

Solid chapter, lot's of progress on all 3 fronts.

Oven fighting Sanji would be interesting, since Oven has the Heat Heat Fruit and might be immune to Diable Jambe. Maybe we'll see Sanji relying on Armament Haki to fight him, since that seems to be a recurring aspect of this arc.

Read an interesting theory elsewhere that makes a lot of sense:

Luffy will use mirrors to badmouth Katakuri - he will scream to random people through mirrors about Katakuris face and being shameless while eating. That would solve 2 things - it would throw Katakuri off his calm CoO use and it would make it so that Katakuri will want Luffy OUT OF mirror world as soon as possible, so their fight might finish elswhere.

That could work. Two birds one stone. He is already on a timer as soon as he entered G4th so he needs to do both those things before he crashes somehow.

Why just why did Oda not focus the entire chapter on Luffy vs Katakuri?? JUST when the fight was really starting to go down Oda decides to shift the chapter to something no wants to see.

Good come back from Katakuri to redeem that past blunder. I am interested on how can that trait be used as a weakness at this point. 4/5 chapter.

Pudding becoming the new Sanji is amusing I must say. I am guessing Smoothie will have 0 contribution this arc.

It’s a good think Oda explained that you can avoid Haki attacks by changing shapes and then for a barrage of hits you use observation Haki to change shapes with very simultaneous combo. That way we won’t see some stupid shit like “stomping all around” as some type of half-assed validity.

Over all intreserting chapter, Oda shows once again how styles make great match up instead of the standard abc logic of strength to a certain degree.
But there always be people that say some dumb shit to say like that Toshiz rat boy.

So it comes down to that the difference in actual combat prowess between Luffy and Dogtooth is actually less than initially anticipated. It's just that Dogtooth's CoO is so good that it gives that impression.

And yeah as expected the fishmen were responsible for the disappearances of the sea slugs.

I don't know. I find it unlikely that anyone is going to believe what Luffy, their enemy, is saying. Then again the point of that would not be to make people believe him, but to annoy Dogtooth. Still I don't see him being suckered in that easily. I also don't see how Luffy could have the time to run from mirror to mirror screaming something sensible without Dogtooth being able to stop him. Then again Dogtooth seems to be getting out of breath. If it has been years since you had to tank attacks, suddenly being slammed several times with something like Gear 4 is definitely going to have lingering effects. So if Luffy starts playing some kind of cat and mouse game, he might pull it off.

what? His whole fighting style is a weakness against 1.) long range fighters.. 2.) people who attack with surprises.

His obs haki is future seeing.. not the typical "sensing" he relies way too heavy on his obs haki.. so you take that away hes likely done for.. im going to go as far as to say biscuit and him are equal in power tbvh.. if biscuit can cut off his line of sight and sneak him. Hes done

Yes, yes he did. It was theorized before that Doflamingo did something similar with this threads when he was awakened, but it wasn't directly confirmed.

Last arc Kings haki was everywhere and this arc is about the maximum versions of CoO.

I hope oven v Sanji gets to show off something past HM and DJ like Sanji vs the whole army and let him live up to luffys veiw of him as a one man army.

Well, both Cracker and Katakuri can make material of their DFs appear out of nowhere. At least Katakuri makes his Mochi float and they synchro with his arms move.

Katakuri hasn't been hit in years. This has me thinking that the top tiers haven't really been tested in years. Not many people would mess with yonkos so it's entirely possible these guys aren't in their primes anymore.
