You voiced a very negative reaction towards a goofy design. This, coupled with other complaining you've done in other OP thread(pretty much every chapter you're whining about something) prompted him to ask how you even made it through OP because you were complaining about something that has been present throughout the entire manga prominently. Pretty valid question.
This is very interesting, so let's look at all of the "complaining" that I've done in this arc to warrant that his question even made sense.

  • Criticized Sanji's entire character in WCI about him being over chivalrous and that his reaction to Pudding was a regression to his character. Pretty much complaining that the year of Sanji has been overshadowed by Brook and Jimbei.
  • Announced how Big Mom's entire character is trash and that Katakuri has looked a lot better than her in this arc.
  • Had a problem with how Oda decided to extend this arc when we should have ended it after the cake fell.
  • Katakuri being revealed to be some glutton with fangs or tusks which causing me to complain about his appearance.
Now, out of this entire arc, I have complained about 4 major things, but take note that this is just one arc, and it is not just a coincidence that a huge portion of the fanbase have had a LOT of complaints with this arc, so is it really unreasonable for me to have these complaints as you say or are you just being picky because you are one of the percentage that is actually enjoying this arc?

It's funny how back on Dressrosa, I have only had complaints about the Tontotta tribe and how Oda was focusing WAY too much time on them when no one really cared for them. Everything else was solid for me, but this still warrants a question of why do I read OP, or are people who enjoy and like this arc just upset that some people don't particularly like this arc like they do so they have to ask stupid questions that don't make any sense to my overall standing on One Piece?

Not really. Your posts show a disdain for goofy looking characters with a preference for normal looking characters. That's more than enough to warrant the question.
So Doflamingo, Brook and Luffy are not goofy looking characters? Doflamingo is my second favorite character, Luffy my third and Brook my 6th. It's funny because MOST of the main characters that Oda likes to draw aren't even THAT goofy compared to most of his side characters, but you want to sit here and act like I have complained about every single goofy looking character in OP when I have already explained this to Olorin? Seems like YOU are not reading peoples posts.

It's not a weakness like Katakuri's though. Nami dousing the biscuits with water, while a weakness, didn't hamper Cracker enough that he wasn't still too big a threat for Luffy. If Luffy beats Katakuri because of the weakness, it simply means Katakuri's was more exploitative than Cracker's.
Doesn't matter if it's a weakness like Katakuri's, it's a weakness nonetheless. If he couldn't beat Cracker without Nami, but beats Katakuri who is stronger then Cracker then no it's stupid. Katakuri wouldn't get to were he's at, with a 1 billion bounty without having someway of defending this "weakness" of his.

Weakness like Katakuri's=weakness that can make or break the fight.

Cracker with his weakness still>Luffy
If Luffy wins, then it just means that Katakuri with his weakness<Luffy

Simple. As. That.

Doesn't that makes Cracker > Katakuri???
Nope. For one thing, the weakness might not be present in every fight(Katakuri mentioning that sugar is power and his meal being interrupted will likely be the core of his weakness) and, as Monet said, the strongest one isn't always the one that wins the fight.

Weaknesses in general can make or break fights. Katakuri with his weakness is still stronger then Luffy as far as we know, and so was Cracker. It's a big IF, but we'll see.

Last bit was unnecessary.

Weaknesses in general including crackers one to water. We will see with the next chapter, if Katakuri's "weakness" will let Luffy win this fight.
Nope, not in general. Because there are people who are multi-facted enough that a weakness rendering one ability useless doesn't necessarily mean they can't fight. If Katakuri loses to Luffy because of the weakness, it means that his weakness affects his overall fighting style more than Cracker's does.

Say someone has the ability to render swords worthless because they nullify steel and they fight Kaku and Zoro at their Enies Lobby levels. Kaku is going to have an easier time, and might even beat that person, than Zoro would because removing his steel swords still leaves him with other abilities to fall back on. Swords aren't as integral to the core of his abilities as they are with Zoro.

Basically the same deal with Katakuri. Because his fighting style is more narrow and more centered, if his full fighting capacity only has two pillars, then exploiting a weakness that takes out one of those two pillars is gonna be more drastic than taking out a pillar for someone who has four.

Hell, even right now complaining about Luffy tagging Katakuri cause of the weakness is premature, since in the same chapter, Katakuri shrugged off the blow and still showed superior ability.

It would've been inarguably one of the best chapters in recent times if not for the fact that Oda turned one of the single coolest new characters into a punchline. Haha, it's funny because he's a glutton with a mouth like Luffy's, except he's got dog teeth. Get it, like his name? Ha...

Seriously though, there wasn't any point in making him literally Uber Luffy. The anger twitch followed by "okay, iced tea it is" was great on its own, and the fact that everyone in the BM crew respects him is awesome. He's a likable villain. Why not just have him be a normal guy, with a few small quirks, such as being precognitive badass?

Everything about this chapter was fantastic except for that one choice to turn an unstoppable force into a food joke. The whole Katakuri = Luffy kinda went a bit too far.

The weirdest thing is how "Dogtooth" was a mistranslation on *********** and Mangapanda, so I wonder how they knew that he would actually have dog like teeth under that cloth.

People should start calling him Dogtooth instead of Katakuri now tbh.

Should have stopped typing there. Nuff said.

I want intelligently instigated counters not "oh wow check he is weak to this and that". Is that too much to ask?
I think you either should have said more or simply nothing at all instead of giving such a half-assed comment as I'm pretty sure you completely misinterpreted that sentence and this post just reinforced everything I described before: you are complaining for the sake of complaining and you're completely oblivious about what the hell you are actually saying. You don't really care about any of this as long as you can piss on something.

What is an "intelligent counter" supposed to be? Hitting Dogtooth with a book? Giving him a lecture on the harmful effects of eating too much sugar on the human body in an attempt to scare him? Citing numerous historical events to bore him to death? You don't even know what Dogtooth's weakness is, yet here you are complaining about it. Yes Luffy's hit was a fluke, but what were you expecting then? That he would just stand still and do nothing? Even if Luffy himself knows he can't land a blow, he has no choice but to keep trying and that he succeeded once doesn't automatically mean he can do it again...unless he figures out as why he was able to hit him and then tries to exploit that knowledge. This is a basic, universal fighting tactic and could easily be described as an "intelligent counter", so you are contradicting your own complaint. Or were you under the impression that Dogtooth was some kind of an invincible, infallible, omnipotent entity? The manga neither stated nor implied that even remotely, so it's your own fault if you have thoughts like that.

So yeah in this two-sentence comment of yours you:

- Pointlessly complained about something nonsensical

- Didn't think at all about what it is you're exactly saying and what it implies

- Contradicted yourself

I'm not saying that people can't have negative views, but there's a huge difference with providing some well-formulated criticism and complaining each week about utter BS. You can't reason with such people as their intention is to complain, not that have a meaningful discussion and that irritates other people, creating a vicious cycle. So yeah this behavior is cancerous.

Seriously look at what you just did. You are complaining about Luffy potentially finding a way to counter Dogtooth...with the reason that he isn't using a counter. You mangled this entire scene purely so that you could issue that complaint, it's completely messed up.

Quite curious that your brain managed to extract these out of my comment.

Ever watched how Might Gai a taijutsu fighter countered Obito's kamui? Kakashi as well? That's an intelligent counter, put enough pressure on the opponent to let slip something barely noticeable and hardly a weakness then use it to your advantage. Not a simple "oh he didn't dodged my kick this time".

Laxus to Tautarus? The demon studied him as he bluffed through like he wasn't damaged and senses anti magic particles inside etc. So many intelligent counters out there somehow all of them manage to suffice to nothing in your judgement.

If you admit Luffy's kick was a fluke why is this even a discussion? Why are flukes a thing of discussion in a path beyond normal seas? Enel was a "fair enough" enough coincidence of Luffy not being affected since he was a rubber. That's understandable as Haki wasn't a fully developed thing then. Now? no this is just lazy writing.

Thirdly I dislike you writing down on me as if we are the same age animesite aside.

And I'm just baffled how it is you don't realize what it is you actually are saying. It comes down to you having a highly subjective and selective notion of what you define as an "intelligent counter" and then complain about a counter of which you don't even know the mechanics. You have proven again a point that made, namely you created a scenario in your head and then complain when that scenario isn't fulfilled, which is your own fault.

Seriously you can't just take fights from different series between different characters and pretend they are the same and even more so when all those battles are long finished while we're right in the freaking middle of Luffy vs Dogtooth.

And you can be glad I pretend you are older than you most likely are. You are complaining for stupid reasons and then just ignore most of the legitimate points I made, selectively rip things out their context that are beneficial for your own rather messed-up reasonings and then naively believe no one is going to notice that.

Again you are complaining about something you literally know nothing about. You talk about how there hardly was a weakness with Gai and Obito, but you have no idea who big or small Dogtooth's supposed weakness is nor how Luffy is going to react on it. Luck is a part of any battle, but if you learn something by luck and then use that to device a counter measure, that's as genuine as it can possibly be. This is neither different from any other fight nor the examples you listed. Laxus and Whal had been landing blows with each other repeatedly without any specific strategy, but you complain that Luffy has gotten a single one in? Whal than conveniently forgets Laxus thrives on lightning and fires a huge-ass lightning bolt at him and Laxus was taking a huge gamble as he had no guarantee his tactic would work. That it worked in itself can be considered likewise a "fluke".

You selectively and subjectively decide what you see as "intelligent counters" using non-sensecial and very shifty parameters. You are complaining for no reason whatsoever, again proving my point. You talk about lazy writing while you have zero knowledge about what he is going to write.
