Ashura blossomed his power through intense training. Hagoromo stated this. He also gave him ninshuu authority . But thats not the only thing . Uzumaki has strong chakra which senju didnt naturally inherit so uzumaki is indra's lineage . Madara smiled when uzumaki was mentioned , as you know , madara only loves his own clan and is prideful of its status. Hence why he didnt like the konoha diplomacy , despite his clan members liking it . So someone who hates every clan , even the nicest senju clan bcuz of hashi , likes a particular clan , then there must be a deeper reason .

The fact that kushina has the yin nature, even though senju inherit yang predominantly, establishes the fact that uzumaki descended from indra, who had the higher proportion of yin. Minato might or might not be a senju, though he is from a ceratain clan which has been known, but never realized throughout part one and two.
