This might be useless, but I thought i might as well put my 2 cents in on this discussion/debate. I'm seeing a load of people say that the boruto anime has retconned the sharingan by making it possible for sarada to use genjutsu and copy ninjutsu with 1T sharingan. This is easy enough to correct since we only had 1 real fight were an uchiha used 1T sharingan. That major fight was between:
Naruto and Sasuke VS. Haku
Now as we know there is a certain rule for the sharingan, when dealing with the ability to copy ninjutsu. The rule is that the user cannot copy a KKG or KKT. Now lets apply this to the above fight.
When sasuke fought haku, haku use Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals which is a KKG. Now according to the rules, a sharingan user cannot copy a KKG. This means that in the only fight where we witness a 1T sharingan user fight, the ability to copy ninjutsu is nullified due to the opponent using a KKG. This makes the assumption that the ability of the 1T sharingan has been changed is highly ludicrous since we only saw one fight with a 1T sharingan user. The next time we saw sasuke was during the chunin exams 1st test and he had a 2T sharingan.
Now onto another issue involving the sharingan is the ability to put people under genjutsu. This is not something I see to much but some people believe that you need a fully developed sharingan to use this. The notion is not without some credibility since we have only seen 3T sharingan users use genjutsu:sharingan. More importantly, sasuke has only used genjutsu:sharingan when he obtained 3T sharingan after time-skip. This lends one to believe that the only way to use genjutsu:sharingan is by having a fully developed sharingan. However, due to sasuke not using genjutsu until after timeskip it looks like all one needs is the knowledge of how to use genjutsu.
Onto the final misconception on the episode. If you have been on the forums lately, then you have seen people claim that sarada used jutsus that require kiba(lightning sword). However, this is false. Actually under the sword description it says nothing about kiba(lightning sword) have jutsus of its own or jutsus that require the sword. In the 4th Shinobi World War, Suigetsu explained to Jugo the abilities of all 5 swords of the 7 swordsman of the mist(killer bee had samehada and mangetsu did not have a sword). He only said that kiba(lightning sword) is imbued with lightning and that this causes the sword to be sharper than any other sword.
As you can clearly see, there is no indication that the sword was required for Buntan to use 3 of the 4 lightning element jutsus shown in the episode.
