Lol this chapter was so funny and the opposite from what you would expect after last week's he never touched the ground with his back "hype" Instead of Luffy punching him down he does it daily because he is a slob XD

So a few cool things, Luffy switched from survival to his 'aha I've figured it out' fighting style. Which is bad news for Katakuri. It looks like Luffy found a way to connect hits and hopefully we will get a little explanation next time.

Katakuri reveals that there is next level CoA, maybe awakened CoA since it looks like he used his devil fruit powers mixed with CoA.

Luffy has donut smelling observation haki confirmed.

Cool chapter and just focused on the fight. Hope we will see the conclusion soon.

Katakuri went from owning base Luffy to getting his face kicked by base Luffy?

Katakuri couldn't see Luffy surviving the mirror mochi? Why did Katakuri suddenly become so careless and impatient? Did his Observation Haki.exe stop working?

Why is Katakuri so self conscious anyway?? His entire family has their own quirks and looks so why is so embarrassed lmao.

Katakuri is the only thing good about this arc and he is getting trolled.

How is it a nerf when Luffy specifically says that he understands his power ?

How is that a nerf of Katakuri and not growth for Luffy ? Have you even read the chapter or did you skim only to leave the disappointment comment of the week along with usual suspects Passerby and HashimaMadara.

Maybe Katakuri can't use CoO when using CoA, maybe he can't use CoO when he is first to attack, maybe his powers of sweetness are fueled on sugar intake. Maybe Luffy's CoO is growing which would reduce the advantage Katakuri would get from using his.

There could be plenty of things. But nooo let's just scream nerf because we got all aboard the hype train 10 chapters ago. A hype train of your own design because Oda never did.

Blame yourself for having nerfed reading capabilities.

I went into this chapter pretty skeptical about the eating thing, the design, and the kick.

First off, Katakuri's design was hilarious. That transition of the Elephant Gun to Katakuri laying on the ground esctatic over donuts was so ****ing funny. I enjoyed it, but I'm sure that moment is gonna unveil all of the people who loved Katakuri only cause he looked like a cool Mad Max villain.

The eating thing, to me, makes sense, but highlights the main issue with this arc, and that's that a lot of the things could have been better with some more build-up. Things like hints and clues to them before. Katakuri running out of patience so he leaves Luffy underneath a pile of shit-shaped Mochi so he can have snack time makes sense, it just wasn't set-up properly and alluded to within Katakuri's character, so it's inclusion is really jarring. Something like Katakuri or Perospero saying/thinking "They're interfering with snack time" would have been perfect foreshadowing to Katakuri dropping the guard.

The chefs thinking about how people are most vulnerable when eating should have been dialogue that would be included way earlier in the arc. Putting that during the wedding would have been excellent build up to Katakuri's snack time, but including it in this very chapter while it's happening just seems like Oda is shoehorning in a justification for why Katakuri would leave Luffy open.

Katakuri had no way of knowing Luffy would be able to eat his way out of that Mochi wall anyways. Yeah, confirming the kill is always better and it's cliche, but it's also understandable why he left him there. I'm glad Luffy was able to figure out a hole in Katakuri's ability as opposed to just suddenly powering-up magically in the middle of the fight. With Gear Fourth out, we'll be able to fully see if Luffy stands any chance, but if Cracker is any indication, he'll still end up being below Kata and will probably have to rely on exploiting this weakness.

Chap was a 3.5-4/5 to me.

Dafuq! bruh, there is a difference between an intelligent counter/learning an ability and "oh yeah somehow my weakness info is leaking on its own" bullcrap.

Luffy expected katakuri to dodge his attack then he didn't and somehow "that made all the sense" that's whack AF.

I started having problem with a 1 billion berrie n#gga complaining gear 2 Luffy is dodging his attacks more than anyone he faced before. Ehhhhhh is that bounty a fraud? Not equating a bounty to strength by any means but Are you for real here?

That's not how it works. In order for something to be a weakness, it has to be observable and happen regardless of your input. Meaning if Katakuri could do something to hide the weakness and prevent it from happening, then it wouldn't be a weakness in the first place. The fact that it happens even when Katakuri doesn't want it to is what makes it a weakness in the first place, and what makes it observable.

That's what makes it a weakness. It happened, and Luffy noticed it. That's what figuring out a weakness is.

I loved this chapter a very enjoyable fight to read

For the dirst time I kinda like Katakuri whereas Ive been indifferent towrds him up to now. He FINALLY looks like a One Piece character, up to now henjust didnt fit in. This chapter also corrected my annoyance with the last chapter, I really hated the dose of instant hype Brulee gave Doggo "never lay down bla bla bla", im really happy Oda went this way

As for everyone bit??hing about the fight and the pause, it wasnt a pause, Katakuri thought he won he dumped a hill of his stuff atop luffy to suffocate him and finish him, he didnt let him live to go eat lol, hes even surprised luffy came back for him. Its the same as if Kata stood there waiting for Luffy to suffocate, Luffy did t get an advamtage, he would have gotten out either way, the only thing that happened is Luffy burnt the fat, which is a gag Oda could have also done by Luffy exchanging those few punches. As for Doggo being nerfed, all his attacks are still superior to luffy just oike before, all luffy did was kick him in the face which did nothing so calm your horses ppl lol. I dont yet particularly care about katakuri even now, though more than i did before, but the fight has been cool so far imo

the rage paraders gotta calm down and realize that:

1. Luffy's Observation Haki improved

2. Katakuri can't use multiple advanced Haki techs simultaneously

3. Big Mom's officers are entitled and get flustered when someone with Luffy's spirit refuses to comply with demands

4. Luffy interrupted Katakuri's merenda before he recoup the stamina he used up with all of those Haki techs

5. Luffy figuring out Katakuri's weakness isn't all that different from him figuring out how he could punch Crocodile w/o getting mummified in the process.

Was gonna give this chapter an automatic 1 because of the spoilers but I think Oda did this better than I originally thought. While I will admit I don't like the way Katakuri looks while he is eating during his snack time, I still couldn't help but laugh at how Oda executed this and showed Katakuri's shocked expression when he got discovered by Luffy. His character design is a huge turnoff for me, but I should know that most OP characters are not well designed to begin with, so I will let it slide.

*Character design is a huge component of a person's character. It's not just fixated on abilities or how much screen time a character has. If someone is turned off by how a character looks then that is only a part of judging a person's character.

I feel like Oda is rushing things, as Katakuri being insecure about his face could have been forshadowed a long time ago, maybe back at the wedding. I am very iffy on Luffy figuring out how Katakuri's Mochi and abilities work now just to have a leg up, as I am not sure if it is because Katakuri got somewhat "weaker" after he was eating or maybe Luffy is just getting better under pressure and actually figured out his weakness.

Surprise but I gave this chapter a 4/5. It would have been a 5 if not for Kata's reveal, but I enjoyed everything else honestly.

Also, this was the highlight of the chapter and I'm being dead serious. It's like Oda comes on NB and reads the comments.
